An unexpected change in Bush' schedule to visit Alamogordo, New Mexico this Sunday, October 24. George W. Bush is doing a rally in Ft. Myers, Florida Saturday morning, October 23. The change in schedule for the Bush rally was in response to the great turnout to Sen. Domenici’s early voting rally at the White Sands Mall in Alamogordo on Wednesday. The Bush campaign decided to put Alamogordo on Bush' schedule for a presidential visit before the election.

Tickets are limited to 10,000 for the Alamogordo Bush rally. Hobbs, NM had atfirst limited 6000 tickets but instead abandoned it and 25,000 people showed up for Bush.

The 6000 tickets were for indoors but ended up outdoors instead due to the huge response to be put on the waiting list.

25,000 at Hobbs???!!! With a population of 28,000?

And 10,000 at Alamogordo???!!!

There can be only one reason for this visit: putting the President over the top in New Mexico.

You know, you come down the backside of the mountains and see Alamogordo and White Sands...You get your first sight of a stealth airframe and you just go nuts....:o)

Won't be able to come unfortunately, but my husband and I are voting early here in AZ and coming to Dona Ana county to help the RNC folks stave off some of the fraud. We can't "officially" poll watch, but we have cell phones for reporting and cars to drive voters to the polls. I lived in Dona Ana county for 20 years and I know it's a place where folks have too much common sense to be hoodwinked by those in charge there.
Hope to see NM kick butt for GW!!!

I see those stealth planes regularly. Absolutely stunning to watch them do their excercises...especially when they fly a lot closer to the ground or buzz over the mountain tops of Siera Blanca whose elevation is 12,003 feet high.

Isn't that the truth. I was visiting Alamogordo back during the first weekend in April (Mostly for the Trinity Tour) but we went to White Sands National Monument the day before. While we were out there, some F-117's were practicing and flew over multiple times. I wish the camera had my long lens on it at the time so I could get some good pictures but I couldn't change in the middle of the roll or it would have trashed the film.

Well, there were many out of towners. I was one of them willing to drive 2.5 hours to the Hobbs Bush rally. :)

I talked to a friend in NM today. She and her husband have already voted. She said the Bush voters are very motivated, and might outnumber the Kerry voters, but are not sure that they can overcome the massive voter fraud by the Kerry camp.

Came out today that Clinton is going there next week after Florida speech... and I believe Kerry is headed there this weekend, too.

My one worry is the fraud. Good to see bush going there. I think we can overcome it.

Sorry, but the local fish wrapper had it at 17,000 for the President, and I have to agree. The local GOP gave out 19,000 tickets which means that 2,000 didn't show up on a very cool, breezy, damp morning. However, the sun came out around the time the President arrived, and he gave a 45 minute speech. Not too shabby for a small city of just 28,000!!

I got tickets for our entire office, and they bought me a nice W-04 hat!
