Sabato's Electoral Road Map
October 19, 2004 Update:
Now that the three presidential and one vice-presidential debates are through, it is clear that the debates in many ways served to elevate Kerry. In an ironic twist of fate, the rules that the president's campaign thought would help George W. Bush strike a convincing blow against the Democrat only kept John Kerry on message and within the allotted time. With national polls showing the president anywhere from a point to many points ahead of the Democrat, it will come down to just a few states in the Electoral College. The Crystal Ball has moved Arizona, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia to solid Red states. That leaves--as we see it--11 states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin for a total of 125 electoral votes. Of course, some states are much, much closer than others.
285-254 is still too close
What a joke...did he NOT see the new polls in iowa, mn, and nm this week???
Sabato is a wahoo. Give him some cheese and ignore him please.
He's still got it 284-254 for Bush. I've seen Larry on Fox a couple of times this year. He's one of those guys who bends over backwards being'fair' to Kerry so he can't be called biased for Bush. Sheesh...it's only bad to be biased when you're a conservative I guess.
Speaking of crystal balls, how about all the supermarket tabloids, I'm sure their 'psychic' predictions at the beginning of '04 had political predictions. Anyone know what anyone of these great 'seers' had to say about the election? And I wonder how many of them predicted the events of 9/11/2001
302 to 236 If you switch Iowa and Minnesota.
Might as well flip New (Hampshire + Mexico) while you're at it.
Thank you! and Hawaii!
Sabato was calling it for Kerry last week.
Pick up IOWA and you could lose OHIO.....271
Mexico's voting?
fyi
Please,....enough with the Ohio lost talk ok??? LOL! :)
Bush will win Ohio!
Sabado is like MOST elitist professor-type from UVA - a LEFT-WING WHACKO posing as an unbiased analyst.
to show what a poor leader Kerry would be he is heading back to NV this week after being their last weekend? Not much will change their now and if he did not make his case last week no chance now. a modest Bush win will still be a win and he will have wasted a day of travel.
I thought NV was a done deal for Bush.
I have been thinking of driving up to Charlottesville just to smack this jerk.
Nov 2 is going to be a bummer for getting the Bush vote out in the rest of the country because the first states to close and announce their winners will be New England, which will be all for Kerry. It think that they close at 7 PM, which is only 4 PM on the West coast.
