Watch John O'neil on MSNC
Lawrence O'Donnell, Jr. is a writer and producer of the NBC Emmy Award winning drama, The West Wing. The episode he co-wrote on the death penalty won the 2000 Christopher Award and the 2000 Humanitas Prize for writing that "communicate(s) those values which most enrich the human person."
Mr. O'Donnell is also MSNBC's senior political analyst and a panelist on The McLaughlin Group.
During the election year 2000, Mr. O'Donnell was a contributing editor of New York Magazine with a column on national politics.
From 1993 through 1995, Mr. O'Donnell was the Democratic Chief of Staff of the United States Senate Committee on Finance. The Committee has jurisdiction over legislation involving taxation, international trade, health care, Social Security, Welfare, and other income security programs.
In 1992, Mr. O'Donnell was Chief of Staff of the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
From 1989 until 1992, Mr. O'Donnell served as Senior Advisor to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. He began his professional association with Senator Moynihan as Director of Communications in the Senator's 1988 re-election campaign.
A writer prior to entering politics and government, Mr. O'Donnell published the book Deadly Force (1983), which was adapted as a CBS movie in 1986. He has written essays and articles for several publications including The New York Times, New York Magazine, People, Spy, and Boston Magazine.
Mr. O'Donnell has also appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Nightline, Charlie Rose Show, and several other programs. Suffolk University awarded Mr. O'Donnell an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, in 2001.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. O'Donnell is a graduate of Harvard College (Class of 1976). He lives in Los Angeles.
I think this whole melt-down thing is for show.
I work in the financial industry... No more than $25 total... I'll get my brother to send a couple hundred and pay him back, thanks to the person that offered that advice.
It has to do with the appearance of favoritism... It's a financial firm, and my company doesn't want more than $25 going towards political campaigns, in aggregate.

Thanks
Going? Gone, I'd say.
That was quick. Did anyone send it to Rush, Hewitt, Poweline Blog, Drudge???
LOL! Good one.
Gonna watch it in Pacific time. Need to let Excedrin Migraine Triple Strength kick in first.
He's "mad as hell, and [he's] not going to take it anymore!"

I happen to be a big fan of Joe Scarborough. i find him a balanced and fair host. Unfortunately, he has been off air due to health problems and in his place Pat Buchannan has been doing a good job trying to fill his shoes.
Unfortunately.. Lawrence O'Donnell has become a regular fixture on the show and we Scarborough fans have been subjected to an ever-increased tirade of embarrasing screaming fits from Lawrence.
Last week it was a long tirade over lesbian sex and how God is bad and this week when we tuned in to watch John O'Neil: we were unable to hear Mr. O'Neil, a Navy Veteran, answer any of Pat's questions. Lawrence O'Donnell went into a tirade, that can only be likened to a mental breakdown on air. Screaming Liar, Liar, Liar and worse for about 10 minutes. Pat was unable to get him under control and when Frank Luntz came on next even he seemed thrown by what had just happened. The next segment it escalated again into Lesbian Sex over and over again like last week.
I realize GE is probably rooting for the election of John Kerry. However it is highly unfair for the fans of Joe's show to run it down to the tubes for the sake of doing anything and everything possible to embarass Republican or other guests and I find it very stressful to listen or watch another of Mr. O'Donnell's tirades. So unless Joe gets a job on another network, I guess I will find someone else to watch in that timeframe.
In addition, I would add. I have all GE appliances in my home. Several are due to be replaced soon. I will be looking for a brand, other than General Electric in the future.

p.s. not the cable network
These people must be absolutely crushed in the polls for the good of our democracy and for the freedom of the world. And I am series about every word of that statement.
Kerry is in Nevada and telling more Bush lies over Yucca Mountain and supposed to go to New Mexico and Colorado too. Heard earlier today that Clinton will go to New Mexico as well as Florida and PA next week.
Mixed with all the fraud and violence... how many people do you know who have already voted?
My letter to MSNBC below:
Dear MSNBC,
I have been a faithful viewer of Scarborough Country since its beginning. It was a refreshing change from Fox News.
Tonight's exchange between John O'Neill and Lawrence O'Donnell was one of the sorriest excuses for television I have ever seen. As a "Senior Political Analyst" for MSNBC, O'Donnell should be ashamed of his horrible behavior. Is yelling "LIAR LIAR LIAR" over a GUEST befitting behavior of a Senior Political Analyst for MSNBC? Is endlessly repeating "Mary Cheney has Lesbian Sex" over and over, as he did last week and tonight, befitting of a Senior Political Analyst for MSBNC? Is calling religious members of our society "simple minded" befitting behavior of a Senior Political Analyst for MSNBC?
Whether you agree with O'Neill or not, what O'Donnell did tonight and has been doing is more akin to Jerry Springer than a "legitimate" news network.
His behavior is and has been purely unnacceptable. He may not be ashamed of his antics, but I am ashamed for him.
I was sickened by tonight's display. O'Donnell owes John O'Neill an apology and an apology to all Scarborough Country viewers. I personally refuse to watch another episode like the one tonight. If your employees refuse to be civil to their guests, then this viewer is refusing to watch any more of your garbage.
