This production has not been well thought out, poorly edited and produced.
He made my skin crawl too. But that happens every time I hear someone from the Kerry campaign. Especially that Chad guy.

I just read my "thank you for your courage" e-mail and practically threw up. I only kept it for their address, and I used it again - just not as nice this time...
So, is EVERYBODY that is new to you ppl a troll? I've bee a Republican for 30yrs. BOTH of my children have been chairman of the UCD college Republican club. No easy fete, I might add. My son currently runs county Republican campaigns. We raised them "right" (PUN INTENDED). Does everyone have to provide a resume to proove themselves innocent of being a troll?
I agree. It was a sell out to conservatives. Now they have both sides pissed at them.
Sinclair should have cancelled it - it was a waste of time.
We are not angry about it; we have been hear long enough to know when we are being manipulated.
FR is a very powerful place; lots of our enemies come here to try to "direct" the conservations and thoughts.
They still haven't figured out that we invented this stuff and we were here YEARS before anybody even thought about blogging.
There's not much we haven't seen -- or that can be "run" on us.

I just finished watching the entire film, as provided through a link on this thread. THAT is what I wanted to see, not the Kerry campaign ad that Sinclair ran.
Watch the movie, and pass it on.

Whys that? Lot's of newbies have joined since the Dan Rather episode and FR is now listed as one of the top conservative sites by major mainstream media. They generally provide fresh insightful comments and also expand our reach. I welcome them. Yes, there are trolls who hit and run and others who pose as conservatives but soon expose themselves as having some other agenda (not necessarily libs, either). The admin mods do a good job in keeping order and sorting things out. I say don't treat every newbie as a DU plant. We only hurt ourselves if we become so suspicious that newbies have to pass a "flame-war" test to prove themselves that can result in immediately driving them away.
I paid attention . Did you? Kerry got more good press than the POWs did. And yes people do read for years but don't feel comfortable enough or knowledgable enough to post, but that doesn't make us less intelligent or interested. I saw no reason to sign up to read. There are plenty like me out there. Actually you should be impressed that we want to read your opinions. The rudeness was #1 reason to read not post and seems that was good idea.
Sinclair did prove one thing tonight: it is possible to be an equal opportunity offender!

I'm disappointed with the TROLL alerts. I am certainly NOT a troll and I thought the Sinclair production was horrid.
They promised that "these men spent over 80 years combined in the Hanoi Hilton and deserve to have their stories told. And if we take heat for it, then it's a matter of principle."
What did we get? A couple clips of Stolen Honor, an even LONGER clip of that up the river tripe, and a look at GW's TANG service.
By the time the production was finished, I felt like the Vets who wanted the truth to get out about Kerry were made to be misguided or holding a grudge.
This truly makes me furious. I even sent Sinclair a thank you message last week for having the courage to stand and take the heat!
So, VOA, I hope you're right. I considered that possibility about 30 minutes ago and wonder if the goal here was to infuriate Vietnam Vets and Swiftees and fans to spark some action.

I've been on the forum longer than just about anybody on this thread and even I can't answer about half of those questions.
I was never big into gossip. And Howlin is not the "Grand Dame", she's just one of many good FReepers and patriots on the forum.
