I had to watch channel 1 at my high school. It was cheesy. I wonder how many schools get it.

Indeed! And you know this has got to be driving the RATS crazy --- which reminds me...

Let's hope for similar results during the actual election. Although I always find it amusing to poll kids or to show kids holding political signs. At least in this poll teenagers are being considered.

Two questions:

I wonder why they show Kerry as red in the northeast, but then show Bush as red everywhere else?

Is Channel One primarily in suburban schools? Or are they in a lot of city schools as well?

Thank you - funny you sent this. My mother works at an elementary school (K-6) as a teacher's assistant. She recently asked various classes of children who they like for president. Not one in the entire school said 'Kerry'. All like Bush. Hear that McAuliffe? Drink your purple cool-aid.

Huh? Look again. Mine only showed PA, DE, VT and NH as red, and all the others blue.

I think it's noteworthy that the ChannelOne poll required students to vote using a keycode handed out at school, while the Nickelodeon poll was more bot-susceptible.

Have you seen the "Men Like Bush, Women Like Dick" bumper stickers? I have seen them here in Fresno. There are also tons of Bush/Cheney yard signs in my neighborhood, and none have been messed with. All my neighbors that I know are very conservative and I love it.

We use Channel One at our private Christian school. I was suspicious of it at first, but am pretty impressed with their handling of the news. Oh, that the alphabet soup could do as well.

Our school is in a hotbed of Lexus liberals in the outskirts of Los Angeles. Don't know how our student body went - haven't seen the results, if they exist.

My eight year old boy was outraged at the result and demanded I hire an attorney to force a recount...

If true, I almost wish that the kids could vote, and let the parents take the day off to play video games. At least this gives me hope for the future (vs. the "likely voters" of today...I can't believe the real-deal is still this close).

Recruit a "swing-voter" each day!

Ok. That's just not even funny. I can't believe it. Channel One is still going 12 years later? Good grief. Oh, it's in some private (Catholic, maybe others) schools too.

I'm *shocked* Bush was chosen. Now they need to get to the polls and make it official. Unfortunately, they tend to have a lousy track record, don't they?

You shouldn't be shocked. Sociologists refer to this generation as the "Millenial" Generation. (1980-2000), and many believe that they will be the next "Greatest Generation," similiar to the one that won World War II. Already that's coming true, with the number of young people volunteering for military service. Pat Tillman was a member of that generation.

These kids were raised during the Reagan administration, when family values came back into style. Along with family values came a respect for children. That wasn't true with the kids who grew up in my generation (Gen-X) 1960-1980. The Sixties may have been a great time for women's liberation, but not for kids. Roe v. Wade, etc.

Ironically, young woman today are rejecting abortion, much to their mothers' horror.

These kids are awesome, they're responsible, and they're smart.

I heard this same thing yesterday in a sermon given at our Presbytery meeting - seems to me it was sourced to a national publication, but I can't recall it at the moment. I think it might be true - based on some of the anecdotal evidence I have seen recently.

While running errands this afternoon, my six year old daughter was asking me questions about the election. I did my best to answer without using any "ugly" words and was dumbfounded at the level of insight and understanding she has on the subject. Maybe it is just indoctrination, but it didn't really sound like it - it sounded more like a child's un"jaded", naive and honest understanding of things - simple. basic. To me, that was very reassuring. I was at least relieved to know that my kids aren't being brainwashed in the public schools...but then again, we are in a RED state.

IF this is a trend and it continues...the DIMS will be out of power for a LONG time.
