The GOP is now solidly in his corner, and he knows it.

The national GOP, perhaps, and maybe even what passes for leadership in the CAGOP. But the people I know at the grassroots are deeply disappointed in our governor. I'm talking about the people who are volunteering right now in local Bush-Cheney/Republican Party HQ's to try to elect Republican candidates. They've gotten zero help from the governor, and they won't forget.

Yes, and these were the McClintock people in 2003. They were 13 percent of the vote. No longer can conservatives even win statewide GOP primaries in CA.
