What's happening in Maryland?
Real Clear Politics ^

If Bush is expanding his lead in the states, watch Maryland as an indicator. If Bush is doing well in the mid Atlantic, Pa, Jersey, then Maryland and Del. should not be so far behind.

I don;t recall seeing any Maryland polls. Or Delaware for that matter. I figured they were fairly safe Kerry states. What does recent polling suggest about those states?

I don't think they have been polled in awhile. But if Bush is really surging in the Midwest and PA and Jersey, then Maryland and Del. should begin to uptick for him as well.

Last I heard about Maryland (a couple of weeks ago) it was about tied.

Bush was gaining big among the black voters.

Why does the radio news keep saying that Bush and Kerry are "just about dead even" in NEVADA???

The D.C. area is kerry country. It is real tough to get any traction there.

Ohio and Fl. we are in the lead by about 4-6 pts (if you can accept the polls, I think they are undercounting GOP voters)

In Pa. Bush and Kerry tied and in Mich. Bush up by about 5.

With two more weeks to the election, Bush will begin to break away this week as people begin considering the terror issue more seriously and who they are going to choose to fight it.

It looks like Bush has just started moving into a real lead with that Michigan poll.

MAryland being tied a couple of weeks ago sounds awesome. Like I said, I never considered it anything but a safe Kerry state.

That would be awesome. I pray that the black voters will finally wake up to how the Democrat party has played them for fools all of these years.

Nevada is clearly safe for Bush. Maryland is the key though, if Bush is surging, then he should improve his standing in both Maryland and Del. Both are much more conservative than people give them credit for.

Until I see the numbers for Maryland, I disagree.

However, New Jersey and Michigan are in play per the latest news.

Bush has just started moving into a real lead with that Michigan poll.

About that poll from the article:

"In the initial installment of a poll that regularly will track voter sentiment in the final two weeks of the campaign,"

This is a 'tracking poll' so to speak.  If it remains strong in the Bush column the election is effectively over.  Especially with the marriage ban amendment and lousy weather on Nov. 2nd will send the nitwits packing for a few more years.

Has anyone here bothered to actually look at the Maryland polls? Kerry has had a near-constant double-digit lead. Survey USA, which had the alleged tie in September, is back up to a 15 point Kerry lead, which is roughly what Gore won by in 2000.

Maryland is a pipedream. Let's concern ourselves with the states we can actually win.

You missed my point entirely. I merely wrote that IF Bush is surging in PA and New Jersey, then we should see SOME movement in Maryland and to a lesser extent Del. Not that Bush will win those states, but they should start to tighten, IF Bus begins to surge in PA and NJ.
