Sacrificing Israel By Charles Krauthammer Friday, October 22, 2004; Page A25 The centerpiece of John Kerry's foreign policy is to rebuild our alliances so the world will come to our aid, especially in Iraq. He repeats this endlessly because it is the only foreign policy idea he has to offer. The problem for Kerry is that he cannot explain just how he proposes to do this. The mere appearance of a Europhilic fresh face is unlikely to so thrill the allies that French troops will start marching down the streets of Baghdad. Therefore, you can believe that Kerry is just being cynical in pledging to bring in the allies, knowing that he has no way of doing it. Or you can believe, as I do, that he means it. He really does want to end America's isolation. And he has an idea how to do it. For understandable reasons, however, he will not explain how on the eve of an election. Think about it: What do the Europeans and the Arab states endlessly rail about in the Middle East? What (outside of Iraq) is the area of most friction with U.S. policy? What single issue most isolates America from the overwhelming majority of countries at the United Nations? The answer is obvious: Israel.

Why is it then that the Jewish vote goes almost exclusively to the Dems? What is it that Strisand knows that I don't?

Mostly out of old habits, frankly like most voters. Also, some Jews are so secular that they are more liberal than Jewish, J.I.N.O.s (Jews in Name Only).

Actually, in the short term anyway, they're only voting for Israel's doom and destruction, though they probably don't see it that way. You know liberals' child-like trust in enemies of the US and Israel. Probably the same thinking that accounts for Israelis in Shalom Achshav.

Some Jews still look at Hitler as a Christian and that they were persecuted because they are Jews. Combine that with the Democrats portraying Republicans as Nazis, add a bit of God, add some Democrat fear and you have a Jew that is voting Democrat.

The other theory is that Jews that came to the US a long time ago were borderline Socialists. Jews helped start unions in various industries. Remember, before 1948 there was no Israel. So people like my parents and grandparents could care less about a Jewish homeland. They knew what they knew and they passed it down.

So based on their beliefs and the closest thing to their beliefs was a liberal, they voted that way.

I lived in Israel, witnessed first hand the horror of terrorism and I am Jewish and a Republican.

I, too, am part Jewish, and it pains me terribly to see how the American Jewish voters are so blind to the motal danger that lurks at their doorstep. But it is not only the Jews that will be exterminated if "terrorism" works its will, as it will certainly do, under John Kerry's leadership. Women, gays, lesbians, Blacks, Christians, etc. will all be destroyed one by one. The rape, torture, abuse and murder will be unabated!!! I hate to say it but these folks are fools, and they are playing with their own lives and the lives of their families and loved ones. Go figure!!!

My respect for Krauthammer grows every time I read the first 5 sentences of anything he writes.

His sense on this issue is very sharp. His analysis is complete. And, his conclusion is accurate.

Every Jew should be quaking in their boots the prospect of a Kerry presidency.

Israel is sacraficing itself.

Polls (and Jews you talk to in general) do not even believe in Hashem, and even if there is a Hashem, Jews are going to do what they please. They have the blessing of "dew of the heaven...fatness of the earth" anyway. Stiffnecked doesn't adequately describe it.

Maybe something needs to happen before the election, that will cause Kerry to force his hand, he would be forced to take a stand verbally on ....some action that Israel was made to take against it's enemy....that will show everyone without a shadow of a doubt that his loyalties do NOT fall behind Israel but instead behind Israel's enemies.
