Exactly right. Of course, Lenin discourses on this political sleight-of-hand at some length. And, not to put too fine a point on it, since the colloquial description is always of Marxists, it's really Leninist. Marx himself understood virtually nothing about the darker side of human nature or how to run an efficient political killing machine.
