Bush =red
create your own personalized map of the USA or write about it on the open travel guide
Maybe just San Francisco and LA will fall in the ocean.
BUSH- 259 EV's. KERRY- 205 EV's, 79 EV's up for grabs.
New Hampshire (4)
Pennsylvania (21)
Ohio (20)
Florida (27)
If Bush wins any of the Penn, Ohio, Fla, he wins. If he gets Iowa and NH he wins.
I think this should be expanded to a world map. Blue France!!
"Here is how I have it.
Bush wins Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin...Kerry wins New Mexico, Oregon, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey.
In all I have 5 toss-ups.
Penn, Ohio, Florida, Iowa and New Hampshire.
Under this scenario Bush has won without any of the toss-ups. Is this LA Times thing broken???
Bush- 281, (270 needed to win). Kerry-205 --- 52 electoral votes up for grabs.
See if its the same on your computer."

I think you did not enter your selections as you thought.
I got your results by allocating Florida to Bush. So you only had 4 tossups, PA, IA, OH, and NH.
Kerry gets his 205 from DC, MA, ME, NY, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, WA, OR, CA, NM, IL, MN and HI.
Bush gets his 281 from FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, WV, KY, IN, MI, WI, KY, TN, AL, MS, LA, AR, MO, TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, MT, ID, WY, NV, UT, CO, AZ, and AK.
see post #40. I added Fla for Bush by accident
What is with post #34 saying that Kerry will get Utah? I think not. In '96 Perot got more votes than Clinton in Utah. The chances of it going to a DEMONcrat anytime soon is next to none.
Actually it is none.
I would assume it was another misallocation by the poster. They probably just missed UT on the list of states they "visited."
Mine is 27. It can be criticized for allocating OR, NM, ME, PA, NJ for Bush.
Presidential Candidate |
Vice Presidential Candidate |
Political Party |
Popular Vote | Electoral Vote | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
George Bush | J. Danforth Quayle | Republican | 322,632 | 43.36% | 5 | ||
H. Ross Perot | James Stockdale | Independent | 203,400 | 27.34% | 0 | ||
William Clinton | Albert Gore Jr. | Democratic | 183,429 | 24.65% | 0 |
Most of those states that have such proposals are probably going to wind up EC voting for the Prez, I would think.
Especially swing states.
BUMP for later experimentation.
"I always wondered why "they" (MSM) assigned red to Bush"
They finally remembered that Blue is more soothing than Red and decided to give it to their guy.
I hope you are right.
Here's my take on it;
Bush takes Mi, and Florida, (I live in Fla and we are making sure our people get out the vote). He will take Az because of McClain, and take Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, WV, NC and Va because they are solid in family values. Minn goes to Bush because of Ventura and how humiliated the funeral-prep party made that state. That gives President Bush a total 283-WINNER.
Kerry will take the socialist states of NH, Maine, Pa and Ohio, and NJ(they vote like NY), plus Ar because of Clinton (they want to re-live former glory), He will also take Or, Wash, NM because of the newage twinkie crowd. I also think they are wrong about Colorado--Kerry will take it with the Hollyweird crowd. That gives Kerry a total of 255--LOSER!!!
I also believe most "undecideds" ARENT undecided. They know exactly who they will vote for (most of them are democRATS), (if they dont know who to vote for, they're too stupid to find the polling place anyway.)
