Female soldiers eyed for combat; Army seeks end of 1994 ban...
You forgot banning the stem cell reasearch incase she is crippled in combat, thereby condemning her to a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
Yes, yes, you are correct. If only, if only, Kerry/Edwards could be elected all her troubles would be through! :o)
By the way...I will keep you, your husband, and son in my prayers. May God Bless and keep you all.
Remember, we are talking life and death here, serious business, and "Mr. Prime Choice" is going for the ideal, which of course won't be attained in the foreseeable future. But it is good to aim high so one doesn't get dragged down bit by bit. There is no justification for having women in the combat arms.
Thanks for the prayers. We can use them. Hubbie is due home in February. I can't wait to see him.
God Bless
Reducto ad absurdum. I pointed out two idiotic situations that occurred in our military courtesy of women in the armed forces. Dispute it or refute it. Just don't pull this nonsense as a defense.
Did I say that? Why, no. I pointed it out as a very real example of the sort of nonsense we're getting with women in the military right now. What I pointed out is a fact to support my opinion. As I've said before, you can dispute it or refute it, but spare me this simple-minded reducto ad absurdum nonsense.
Every flag officer who has publicly endorsed Kerry are men.
Thanks. And just so we're all clear on this: I'm only expressing my opinion here. I just don't believe this feminist nonsense. Not sure why people are going nonlinear over it.
That's pretty thin, Jackson. Anorexic at best.
Not at all. They are all flag grade officers who have demonstrated extremely poor judgement. I consider their conduct far worse.
Absolutely. Even worse in a Muslim country. What could they be thinking?
Nope, that's all Drudge had when I posted this.
You hit it right on the mark. The Israelis found this out in their 1967 war and have stopped the practice of placing women in direct combat.
So you consider having a differing political opinion to be on par with violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice? What the hell country do you live in, pal? Sheesh. I dislike Kerry as much as the next guy, but c'mon dude. Keep this in perspective for gosh sakes.
No, I consider making the public statements they did an example of an extreme lack of judgement. The judgement by flag officers is in perspective.
So you consider Abu Ghraib to be nothing more than a "lack of judgment"? A ridiculous asinine situation promulgated by a woman officer that gave ALL of our troops a black eye and our enemies loads of juicy propaganda is nothing more than a "lack of judgment"??
I hate to be the one to break it to you, but your perspective is whacked. Completely whacked.
No, YOU said that women shouldn't be in the military. YOU made the absolute statement. All you offered as an "argument" was two examples of foolish women. Don't denegrate all women by using two examples -- that's pure bigotry.
Nope. I said that any flag officer who publicly endorsed Kerry for President was demonstrating a serious lack of judgment, a quality that leads to poor command performance. I find that quality in flag officers extremely troubling.
As for perspective, you have none. Men have been relieved for cause many, many times and for far more serious situations. To believe that a woman being relieved for cause is any different then a man being relieved is plain naive...or worse.
In the Israeli army, women serve in combat support roles. They even train the troops! The Israeli Air Force has women pilots... Even the country famous for socialist kibbutzim and sexual equality has drawn the line on women engaging in front line fighting. The sight of armed young women soldiers in Israel on leave is still stuff that leaves Americans slack-jawed. Thus, whatever the Drudge headline, I don't think we'll be seeing our daughters fight on the front-lines anytime soon.
