Good link. I have often wondered why Putin has suddenly reversed himself and agreed to sign the Kyoto protocol. Strikes me as a bald-faced attempt to increase pressure on Pres. Bush to sign. After all, unlike the US, Russia will be able to violate Kyoto with relative ease...whereas the US economy will be significantly hampered by the same.

I think Kyoto is certainly aimed at the US economy. Besides the Communist movement, it also benefits capitalist rivals of US corporations.
