I re-read what I originally wrote and I'm still confused.

You should be - I'm doing the confusing.

I think I'm reading it wrong - "one's belief or disbelief in those laws is IRRELEVANT TO THE CONSEQUENCES" - I think I read it wrong - I'm reading it as: the consequences are irrelevant - whether you believe or not. But .. the consequences ARE relevant - whether you believe or not.

Now I'm confused!

The new attack on Bush is he hears voices from God telling him what to do.

The left has sunk even lower than I thought they could. I can't imagine what next week will be like.

Okay, let's try to clear up any confusion:
Forget what I said.
What I MEANT was that there ARE CONSEQUENCES for violating God's laws. These consequences hold true for both believers and atheists.

Oh I was being an agitator.

However, I am a believer and practicer, but some of the vilest people I have ever met are professed Christians.

We live in a relatively large city and they have a Christian blue pages that is distributed, similar to the yellow pages, only it's people and business owned by those who are Christians who advertise. The standing joke is not to do business with those folks as you've really got to watch them for shoddy work or unethical practices.

One of the local churches (evangelical, not mainstream) has a Christian singles night. It's mostly made up of those who have failed in marriage once or more times. It's referred to in the secular world as the Wednesday night meat market. While they do allow the secular folks in ,it's only after they are counseled and make some sort of commitment that they have God in their hearts and purity in their minds. Words must be easy, because in practice, if you're looking for action, it's the place to go.

In addition, some of the most litigous folks I know are evangelical Christians. They sound something like this: 'There are too many frivilous lawsuits, and if you disagree with me I'll sue you.'

I agree with you. I have met more than a few hypocritical Christians (and for that matter, I've met some very honest and fair atheists). However, I think on the whole, the leftist anti-God movement is full pathetic intellectuals who are devoid of any conscience or ethics.

Now we're on the same page - which is where we already were .. thanks for clearing that up.
