By Becky Pallack ARIZONA DAILY STAR Eleven Tucson Sector Border Patrol Agents have been assaulted in the last 20 days, officials say.
Most recently, a Border Patrol Agent in Nogales was assaulted Wednesday as he tried to arrest several drug smugglers near Amado, about 40 miles south of Tucson, said spokesman Andy Adame.
The agent saw 10 people carrying bundles of drugs on their backs near milepost 14 on Arivaca Road using a night vision scope, he said.
When he tried to stop them, the smugglers ran away but returned and fired at least three shots at the agent, who fired at least four rounds in return, Adame said. No one was injured.
"The Border Patrol is increasing the pressure daily on alien and drug smugglers," Adame said in a press statement. "Shooting at us is not going to discourage us from doing our job."
More agents and a Border Patrol helicopter went to the scene. They didn't find smugglers, but they did find eight bundles of marijuana, weighing 337 pounds, Adame said. The estimated value of the drugs is about $270,000.
Scout Sniper training teams should train on the borders....
Heck, we could buy at least 5 more border agents by selling that stuff on the street. People are going to buy the drugs anyway, might as well have it fund us trying to keep the drugs out. Then our drug addicts wouldn't be supporting terrorists :p
"who fired at least four rounds in return, Adame said. No one was injured" WTF! Send him back to the firing range for a while.
El Presidente Vicente Fox has had unusually high expenses lately, in part, from paying off the police officers who have been killing reporters and PRI party leaders. He has had to take a bigger cut of the fees on transporting alien wetback Mexican criminals and from all aspects of his drug sales in the U.S. Fox has warned of greater violence and may even use the Mexican army to protect his interests.

>>Fox has warned of greater violence and may even use the Mexican army to protect his interests.<<
That's when the volunteer army will come to life and we will shut the border ourselves!
Wouldn't have anything to do with those 25 Chechnyans they couldn't find, would it?
Wouldn't have anything to do with some wanting to come in to disrupt our election, would it?
Asa has it all well in hand. Doesn't he?
Must be the early voting rush!
BUMP
Just call. I'm a good shot!
I'd like to El Presidente Vicente Fox drug out of a hole like Saddam, like some pennyless begger.
No more single agents in patrol vehicles unless there's a Commanche or Cobra providing over watch when they attempt a stop.
Interesting isn't it how the increased Mexican military on the border coincides with increased violence against American border patrol and police. That government doesn't want any lessening of drug profits.
Have you noticed how much they look a like?
I'll provide the rifle of your choice. Anything after 1800.
