the point - as other poster noted above - is that Kerry didn't have any appropriate clothing & had to go buy some, just like his trip to the sporting goods store earlier this year to procure a Jacquestrap.
"I understand John Kerry bought some camoflauge gear today, which tells me he doesn't do a lot of goose hunting.
"What does that mean? I love Cheney, but goose hunters use a lot of camouflage."
Aye, but if you do a lot of goose hunting you already OWN the camo. Right? It's not the camo, it's the "just bought it today" that makes the point.
Could he have meant, he must not do much hunting or he would already have camouflage clothing.
That is how I took it.
