BAD NEWS FROM FLORIDA: I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who travelled down to Florida to work for the GOP at the polls. He's monitoring the early voting in southern Florida and he says it's a zoo. There's very little Republican presence monitoring the voting, while Democrats are out in force at the early voting stations. He reports that Democratic thugs are blocking parking access for clearly Republican voters, and there has been at least one incident involving a shotgun. My friend, who's got quite a bit of campaign experience and grew up in Florida, sounded dejected about the GOPs efforts thus far.

Where in southern Florida? Palm Beach county? Miami Dade? Be specific and maybe a freeper down that way can go see what's happening!
OK, if true, the national Guard needs to be called to enforce law & order. Republicans need to get there in force and expose these thugs. Of course, getting the media to report fairly about it would be the next hurdle.
How about the Florida Governor? Their Attorney General too.
Darn it, I pray for the W 04 TEam to get their act together and get aggressive. Lightning quick responses are required for the fraud that's coming!
Well, your friend should alert the local authorities and TV/News/Radio.
Squeaky wheel, you know.
If they witnessed it, they can file complaint with election authorities.
Rumor and hearsay. Sorry, but until some offical source mentions this, this is all just panic mongering.
If guns are being used to intimidate voters, now we are talking about Federal crimes here. Options FBI and/or National Guard.
I'm registered to work as a poll watcher on Nov. 2, and we just found out that poll watchers are needed at the early voting sites, too, so I'm volunteering for that.
People who have already signed up to be poll watchers for the Bush campaign or the Republican Party should see if they can put in a little time at the early voting sites over the next few days.
I would have called police a.s.a.p. So this doesn't make sense at all. There should be plenty of press around there anyway, and someone should have a video camera.
No, reporting it now is the worst idea.
We need to video and monitor this for the next week and a half straight until Nov. 2nd. THEN, when Bush wins the state again by a small margin and John Kerry proclaims himself the winner regardless, sending his lawyers to cry "foul," we can spring this trap on him and make his efforts accross the U.S. look absurd to the American public.
Document this now...video tape it....but save it for later.
I voted early yesterday in the Heart of the Evil Empire (Broward County Main Library). I had not problems. People were friendly and I was able to get in and out in less than 5 minutes as opposed to an hour on election day. I think your friend may have exageratred a bit. Be my experience the early voting is a breeze.
Where in Florida? I'll write to the RNC and tell them.
I have to disagree. If incidents are occuring and we have eyewitness reports and/or documentation, the sooner we get it out there and disseminated the better. Why sit on it? You wait and it may be too late and also you'll hear "well, if it's true, why wasn't it reported/in the news/etc?"
Let's don't turn into Democrats. We need hard facts and evidence, details, corroboration, before we try to turn on the media spotlight. A false accusation would be the worst possible action, then the MSM would simply ignore anything real that happened after. Get the facts, stick to the facts, publicize the facts.
Yeah...I'm not buying any claims of voter intimidation unless I see the videotape. How does one know if you are a republican in the parking lot!?!?! Ridiculous!
Hi, I sent an absentee ballot via certified mail. My wife will be at the polls on 11/2 as a volunteer and she doesn't take any sh!t. Where was this intimidation? I'm in Broward also.

"How does one know if you are a republican in the parking lot?"
Bumper stickers,etc.
I still want to see videotape of such intimidation. FYI...I removed all of the B/C decals from my vehicles for fear of vandalism...
