Al Jazeera waiting for Michael Moore
Canada Free Press newspaper ^ | October 21, 2004 | Marinka Peschmann

Oscar winning filmmaker Michael Moore's Cannes Film Festival prized Fahrenheit 9/11 premiered in the Middle East in July. But since last June the camera-welcoming director has dodged Al Jazeera's interview requests. Considering that Moore featured clips from Al Jazeera in his over $100 million-grossing Bush-bashing documentary, why would Moore snub the controversial yet highest-rated Arab Network and pass on the opportunity to promote Fahrenheit 9/11, reaching their global audience of 40 million strong?

Canada Free Press has obtained emails documenting Al Jazeera's repeated attempts to interview the outspoken Moore, "We are putting an international plan for the film in placeŠ Rest assured your request is noted," read DDA Public Relation's June 16 response to Al Jazeera's email. DDA Public Relations who handles 'international publicity' for Fahrenheit 9/11 on behalf of Harvey and Bob Weinstein's 'Fellowship Adventure Group' told Al Jazeera. "Just as soon as we have more information, we will be back in touch." . . . . .

"the camera-welcoming director has dodged Al Jazeera's interview requests"

Himmler has asked Moore to slip into Berlin for cocktails, but Moore is balking.

Perhaps he is finally realizing the extent of his treachery.

Damn, I find it most interesting that the only people in the middle east that find this film(sorry, POS) at all entertaining is the Iranian Government. Moore must be so proud, to be on the same side as a government that enslaves its own people..On second thought, I guess this is not so unique, since Moore has also been on the same side as Saddam.

Oh, well, I think that M. Boor, should travel to these countries, especially, Sadr City, maybe if he does, we might have another film of him, captured by his kidnappers.

I think there's a distinct possibility that Moore will be responsible for a huge crisis in the democratic party. I think Moore has labeled the dems as soft on defence, to an extent that they will lose not only the election, but also additional seats in congress.

The last person to do this was George McGovern. But McGovern was reasonably honest and principled.

My bet is it would be the good citizens of a new free Iraq that would flog Mr. Moore.

LOL. Poetic justice. I would pay a year's salary to see Iraqi's chasing "little piggy" down the alleys of Baghdad.

He should have been tarred and feathered in Philadelphia.

Good question. Didn't they used to string people up like that during wartime?

When Hillary took over control of the democratic party and then ran her health care fiasco, many dems left the Congress.

The only dem I ever really liked was Sam Nunn and he high-tailed it with the ascendancy of BrunHilla.

Why don't they just lay out a trail of chocolate fudge sundays to their doorstep?
