Even for the DemocRATS, this is a low blow. Just when you think they couldn't get lower in the gutter, they have broken through the pavement and burrowed down into the sewer.
A caller on Laura Ingraham's show just commented that she received a call that is being used to target military families. (Paraphrasing) -- We are sorry to inform you that your husband is dead...........this is the message you will receive if George Bush is re-elected.
Laura is hoping that someone will be able to get that recorded message so it can be exposed for all to see.
They are not all like this, of course, but we are dealing with a large number of the scum of the earth in the opposition party. They really are different from us. They are why we must win.
Can someone in Colorado report to us about the Mike Rosen segment?
I don't know what to say....Im speechless...how can someone be so cruel......although I do know the military notifies a family in person, I would have been devastated if I got a call like this when Mike was in Iraq....Im not even going to pray for their souls, they deserve to burn in hell!
I just spoke with the news department at KOA radio. They are calling Ft. Carson to see if they have any reports on the calls.
OK. Suggestions for the disposition of the miscreant making the calls, please.
Tar and feathers?
Staking out on an anthill?
Inviting him to do standup comedy at Bill & Mary's Saloon, just outside MCRD Parris Island?
Other ideas?
"No transctipt, nothing admissible in court"
The court of public opinion is not govened by procedural rules, for good or ill. It doesn't have to be up to jurisprudence standards, just plausible. Most Americans don't care about legal standards anyway. Do you think most Americans believe that OJ is not guilty?
Local news in CoSprings covered this story last night. One women, who didn't want to be identified, said that she received a call from someone at the Kerry campaign who said they were very sorry that her husband was killed in Iraq. She knew it was a prank call because she had just finished speaking with her husband and he was fine. There have been several calls made to wives of Fort Carson soldiers and an investigation is underway at this time.

I was listening, but unfortunately, a co-worker started yamering about the copy machine midway through the interview, so I missed most of it. I did hear that one of Rosen's former interns, Jennifer Baker of KOAA TV in Pueblo, did a story on it last night, but their website doesn't have anything on it. I did hear that some wives whose husbands had legitimately been killed months earlier were contacted as well, but unfortunately I missed the details.
How about we try a few of our own of this nature...
Come up with some ideas.
There were calls being made around Ft. Rich when the 501st was deployed. The FRG did a fantastic job warning the families involved. I have always wondered is some of these calls could be traced to the antiwar families on post.
Our family received a phone call after my sons name was listed in the newspaper while he was in Iraq. The caller was trying to pose as a friend and wanted my sons APO address and his cell phone number.
bump
Good point. I could forge an audio recording and claim it's from a real call.
Telco billing records...

This story has legs...
They've connected it with the Kerry campaign?
No way... no friggin' way could the Kerry campaign be that dumb.
How fast can we generate a commercial of this?
Do it as an October Surprise.
"Trick or Treat, a**hole!"
Just got off the phone with KOAA-TV in COSprings and Tom Router, the military affairs reporter for the COSprings Gazette. Router hadn't heard anything about it, but did say this is standard practice at election time. Sad, pathetic, but it happens. KOAA-TV said an investigation by Fort Carson was under way but no additional info is available at this time.
This is the same man that went to Paris to Provide aid and comfort to the enemy WHILE still a Commissioned Officer in the United States Naval Reserve.
Oh yeah, he is that smug.
