With any luck, this is mostly get-out-the-vote serfs
scamming their sponsors for per-reg incentive dollars,
and no one will show up to vote for these "citizens".
We are hearing about such scamming.
What we aren't hearing is leaks from newly-enlisted
multiple voters who plan to hit dozens of polling
places between now and the end of the day on 02 Nov.
I suspect that if 2004 includes massive numbers of
new ballot felons, that some of them would be law
enforcement plants, GOP spies or just careless
lefty recruits, and there would be some news.
One of the problems with conspiracy theories
involving large numbers of co-conspirators, is
that keeping such a secret is close to impossible.
Nonetheless, vote early to protect your own vote.
Volunteer with your local GOP to poll-watch.

(Was your voter registration sabotaged by ACORN? Don't find out Nov. 2. Vote early.)

But what we are hearing is record early voting...

no one will show up to vote for these "citizens"Right. And that will make "voter turnout" appear even lower, spurring further efforts to get people interested in elections. Ironically, all of these dollars-for-registration projects and outright fraud are exactly what is making people lose faith in the process and find other things to do besides become informed and vote.

"One of the problems with conspiracy theories involving large numbers of co-conspirators, is that keeping such a secret is close to impossible." This statement exposes the biggest flaw in your position: They don't need to try to keep it secret. The Boards of Supervisors of most counties are full of union shills that will have to keep their mouths shut.

Hey! -- In Afghanistan, they mark your thumb with indelible ink (ahh memories of cruisin' High Street on the OSU campus).
Or ... a provisional ballot for those not on the roll in the precinct, to be scrutinized later. And, I am NOT opposed to spending significant time, where the count is close by 0.5%, to compare ALL provisional ballots within the state, cross-referencing the names to check the handwriting ... ;-)
