TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]
From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:
Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job I mean, since she's been grown up.
What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!
From the White House:
Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].
Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!
We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.
Exactly.
Technical correction to my earlier post: I realize that the First Lady (or First man) is technically not a formal government position. But only a liberal lawyer would make that case. To the American people, the First Lady (or Man) is indeed a full-time support position.
I don't want to be in charge.
I want Rush to be in charge.
I want Bush to lead the charge with someone backing him up (like Rush) who realizes that a campaign either charges ahead or falls behind.
How many months did Rove sit on his butt --- and force the same on our President? Far too many.
Rove has been called a political genius. That's one of the greatest spins of the 21st century.
And I'll bet that her servants were a bunch of white boys growing up in AFRIKA!
Ahh ok. I'm actually Eastern Orthodox myself, but I have Catholic friends and there is sometimes a lot of bigotry by certain fundies, so just checking. But I understand now, hope no offense was taken.
Teachers unions to demand an apology. (wishful)
Dear jb6,
LOL. No, no offense taken. It was I who was cryptic and unclear.

Tell me. Does THK have a masters' degree?
Well that's gonna leave another big ketchup stain.
I'll bet Laura with the sparkle in her eye chuckled quietly when she heard this one. I can just see her.
I agree. The whole statement seemed weirdly immature uneducated and inarticulate. (grown up, seems real calm, etc.)
Or maybe not, according to Teraysa...
My bad - I see it was USA Today, not the Today show...
*blush*
Maybe someday your husband will come into a great deal of money (multi-multi-millions, or billions), and you can have a "real job" like Mrs. Heinz-Kerry.
I got a kick out of Charles K.'s take on SRw/Brit Hume, "Marrying a rich man, then giving away his money, not a dime of which you earned, now that's a real job!"
As best as I can remember it!!
My opinion she has never married someone with a real job either..... Guess she got all that education via ppl without real jobs......
I heard them talking about it on the TV and on my car radio so they've been covering it, but they're blunting the edge of the story by adding that she had forgotten about Laura's work as a teacher and that she tried to call Laura to apologize for the oversight. So, the MSM is doing a pretty good job of trying to cover it up and smooth things over like, you know, it's not really worth talking about or remembering. ;-)
Of all the women that John Heinz could have bought...
Notice to the NEA!
Hey! Why don't you all go out and get a real job!
Have a nice day!
