TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]

From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:

Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up.

What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!

From the White House:

Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].

Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!

We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.

My wife's a teacher and she will definitely take offense with that statemnent. As will all two million of her colleagues.

This will spread like wildfire through the tight-knit teaching community.

Kerry is toast.

BUMP

Hey girlfriend! Where you been?

Yeah, I saw this bright and early this am (well, bright and early for me, I was up late).

I've already sent it around to some of my librarian classmates - some of whom have 2 masters degrees, have law degrees, have teaching credentials, and were company, school or government webmasters, database managers, corporate knowledge management supervisors, legal researchers, college reference librarians, and other such low skilled jobs (often doing them in 2 or 3 languages) before starting their PhDs.

But I guess these aren't real jobs according to Ms Heinz Kerry.

Boy, does this woman suck rocks or what?

Dear tm22721,

Maybe.

I know that teachers aren't synonymous with their union, the NEA, but what will the NEA do to put out the fire?

"But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up."

Point #1. Will this tick off teachers?
Point #2. ...."since she is grown up"? Where is this woman from?

Dear gathersnomoss,

Yeah, I noticed the "grown up" thing. Didn't really understand it.

Makes me wonder about the lady.

I sorta feel sorry for her. I don't think she ever anticipated it would be like this.

Tereza could be one of the most crude, classless and hated individuals in the history of politics. She makes Nancy Pelosi look like Nancy Reagan.

Yup. Bush got 4 points from Kerry's Mary Cheney remark. Terezzza just gave us 2 more.

Hey, her 'intent' and her 'expression is real, but the actual use of the words may be out of place,' said the South African-born businesswoman.

And if she's a South African 'businesswoman', I'm a South African 'businesswoman'.

Indeed.

If Kerry's elected, he and Fr. Karras will have their work cut out for them.

Not to mention she is saying that every SAHM doesn't WORK.

That's what I immediately thought when I read the interview. This woman is scum.

I can buy that. I was being more general about running the adds. I am just making the point that it would be good to get this story some publicity. I wasn't saying it should be run specifically by BC04. Sorry if I appear flip floppy:)
