TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]
From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:
Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job I mean, since she's been grown up.
What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!
From the White House:
Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].
Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!
We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.
Dear grounhog,
"Mrs kerry means that marrying riches is more honorable than having a job. HER HUSBAND AGREES...."
So? What's the problem? After all, M. al-Kerrie admitted he married up.
So did W. He married for love. So did Laura. It doesn't get any more "up" than that. ;-)

Thanks for the ping. What a waste of a life teresa has had, and she dares to judge Laura.
Maybe Ms. Heinz-Kerry-Whatever is just mad.
Teachers unions will support Dems no matter what
Yeah, but will teachers?
Teresa Heinz Kerry has disparaged every woman and man that became teachers here in the United States and elsewhere. Ms. Kerry and her "traitor" husband are the ones that have never had a "real" job. This statement by Ms. Kerry should be widely spread and commented on. I have taken note that Matt Drudge, has already headlined it on the Drudge Report site. Good move, Matt!!!
As a side bar for all you Freepers, I voted early yesterday and the gentleman behind me tapped my shoulder and said he was nervous because he had not voted for 32 years. He asked if I would help him. I told him all he needed was his voter registration card and his Driver's License and all would go smoothly. He whispered in my ear and said he was a Vietnam vet and that he was voting for GW Bush because John Kerry IHHO was a traitor to him and other Vietnam vets!!! I whispered back and told him I, too, was voting for GW Bush!!! He smiled!!!
They can handle it. After all, they're Regan Republicans ;-)
PS One of the only movies I've ever seen that was as good as the book (IMO).
What's wrong with CATHOLICS?
Russians, Italians, Poles, Iraqies.
Dear jp6,
Your question is a little ambiguous.
Could you rephrase, please?

Just as NOW was always willing to embrace the Clintons, regardless of what Bill did to women, the NEA will always be willing to Embrace the Kerrys.
This question separates the goats from the sheep. In the scenario she raised, the answer is YES, he should give it up. This kook obviously hasn't a clue about the level of responsibility that resides in the WH. The President and First Lady (or First Man) are full-time positions, not part-time. And they are not entry-level positions either.
Nice to hear about the Vietnam Veteran voting for Bush!
Dear plain talk,
What's interesting is that USA Today made it clear to Ms. Heinz-Kerry-Whatever that most Americans would prefer that the First Lady not hold a job outside of the White House.
But I guess the opinions of the "little people" just don't really count.

Well you posted CATHOLIC Teresa or some such. Seemed to imply something about her and catholicism. Just asking about a clarification.
Lambert Field ;)
Dear jb6,
Oh, okay.
I was pinging some other posters, all of whom are Catholic, as am I.
The "Catholicism" of the Kerrys has been a matter of some discussion with Catholics at FR, and I was referring to Ms. Heinz-Kerry-Whatever's "Catholicism" in an ironic way.
Sorry to be obscure.

She can't even remember that there is work associated with the position
