He claims that it was "before the March 2003 invasion". So when does he mean?

GW was in Nashville in February 2003 where he spoke at the National Religious Broadcasters convention. WHEN did he have this conversation with Pat Robertson?

In February 2003, Robertson was being treated for cancer. Maybe he was on medication and misremembers the facts.

I'm not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. He's gone over the edge way too many times. When he opens his mouth, he hurts my faith, my party and our country. This time -- given the timing, the outlet and the absurdity of the comment -- was particularly vicious.

What stands out to me in the transcript is the section about the "so-called neo-cons". It seems Pat doesn't like Bush cozying up to the evil Jooooooooos, so he's going to try and use his influence to sink Bush's re-election.

I hope anyone who supports this jerk remembers that the next time they go to give him money.

They take him seriously only when it's convenient.

Pat Robertson is a liar. His claims about warning about Iraq are clearly FALSE because all you have to do is watch his past programs going back through the last 2 yrs. and you'll see he was an advocate for the Iraq war in his commentary on the 700 Club. I remember him saying he said to Bush during the run up to the war with Iraq and the battle with the UN that the only thing the Arabs understand is force and that Bush cannot back down. Robertson should be challenged on this because he is clearly rewriting history.

"I mean, the Lord told me it was going to be A, a disaster, and B, messy," Robertson said

If you'll make up a statement from GOD, what's the big about making one up from the Pres?

Yeppers; we got a whole school of 'em swimming around.

That, and Pat hasn't got his name splashed across headlines with another embarrassing statement for some time.

Here's another thing: Robertson has been very supportive of Bush during the campaign. I can't imagine that he would say anything that absurd at this point in the campaign. I smell a fish AND a sewer full of rats.

Does rather stretch the conventional semantic range of "news," doesn't it?

I sent one to Pat, too, and had to re-word it due to the 15-line maximum. Oh well, he'll get the message. I'm sure somebody over there is printing these off and plunking them down on his desk. He'll respond. I know he will. He's got to. It's too damaging to the President if he doesn't.

Someone on this thread mentioned that Pat was coming across as "old" lately. I concur. His son is very good, though, and would be a great new host. It may be time to consider a change. Seriesly.

It is not to support Pat Robertson personally that one "gives money" to CBN. It is to support the Lord's work by way of CBN, which provides millions of dollars of help throughout the world to all kinds of people and situations. That hasn't changed no matter what Pat said or does. I am anxious to hear Pat's response and clarification, if there is one, to the interview with Paula Zahn.

Well.....are we still waiting for Pat Robertson to "clarify" his statements? Surly he knows how foolish those statements were.

If he didn't know BEFORE, I'll bet he's getting an earful now (and don't call me Surly!)

Pat Robertson can be disciplined when he wants to...it's hard for me to believe he didn't know what he was doing.
