"While we are in the unusual position of doing so in the face of the candidacy of a native son, our choice was not a close call.
"Certainly, both John Kerry and George Bush love this country. ... But only one would never sacrifice principle for political advantage. One of these men says he craves the respect of the world. The other by his words and deeds commands it. ... John Kerry, who has served this state well in the U.S. Senate is in his bid for the presidency simply the wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time."

Who did they endorse in the last election ?
Whoo-Hoo. They better hope Kerry doesn't win :-)
PS: My opinion of Massachusetts just went up a tiny bit.
Is this for real?????????
Don't get too excited. The "Herald" is a rag and a tabloid with a much smaller circulation than "The Boston Globe".
But, I guess, it's better than nothing.
Down with Kerry, up with Bush!
Have a great day!

And the kill-shot is this:
Because we responded to the horror of Sept. 11 with resolve not remorse, with courage not timidity, we have no doubt that history will record this era as the dawning of a new ``greatest'' generation of Americans - led by a good man who became a remarkable president. With all of that in mind, the Boston Herald proudly endorses George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for re-election.
The Boston Herald is very much pro Bush
The Herald is the "conservative rag" in MA. It would still be a lefty paper almost anywhere else in the U.S. I think (no matter what they might have said) their real reason for endorsing Bush is that Kerry really is a lousy Senator and would be a worse President.
< /sarcasm >
They endorsed Bush in 2000.
I believe they have already endorsed Kerry.
Served this state well??????????????????????????????????20 years 3 bills passed??????????????????Huh?????????????
I didn't think they had any conservative papers in Massachusetts. Would you say it's the equivalent of the NY Post? The Post is a favorite for commuters here in the tri-state area and I'm expecting they'll proudly endorse President Bush as well. I'd say the NY Slimes is more of a rag than the Post.
The Boston Herald has a circulation of about 250,000. The Boston Globe has a circulation of about 450,000. The Lowell Sun has a circulation of about 50,000. The Herald and the Sun have both endorsed President Bush. Guess who the Globe endorsed.
