CNN's Tucker Carlson is still swatting at "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart in the wake of their angry on-air clash on "Crossfire" Friday night. The conservative commentator yesterday described Stewart's behavior as "bizarre" on the program during which a stone-cold serious Stewart bashed "Crossfire," called Carlson a "d- -k" and made fun of his trademark bow tie.
What's more, Stewart stayed an hour and a half after taping ended to continue haranguing Carlson and co-host Paul Begala. Eventually, a CNN director said Stewart had to leave the set, which was to be used for a taping of "Anderson Cooper 360."
After the show was over, "I gave him my cellphone and said, 'Call me any time when you wanna talk about how evil we are,' " Carlson told PAGE SIX. "But then he was waiting back in the green room. He was sitting back there telling us how we were destroying civic life in this country and how bad we are. I had dinner reservations so I finally split, but he stayed there lecturing Begala and our producers.

What a little, little man Stewart has turned out to be.
Stewart is a glib crank who thinks he has some kind of credibility because he makes "Bush is stupid!" jokes. But I can't get too worked up about it because Carlson is a humorless, prim little nerd.
If your politics and side is winning, you just don't do this.
Seems a lack of control by Stewart, and on a CNN station which would be his camp.
Makes me wonder if it was a form of nervous break down or a reflection that his show rating are in the dump.
Having a hard time disagreeing with Stewart so far.
I thought Stewart's comments were mostly on target regarding Crossfire being a lousy show. My thread was here with someone else posting links to a transcript and video.

I downloaded the clip, (huge) and everything Stewart said was true, the lightweight interviews and softball questions Tucker et. al. are a waste of public bandwidth. Even Hanity and Coulmbs are tougher on guests!!
Tucker kept trying to say Stewart should ask these tought questions - even when Stewart reminded him that his (Stewarts) show was comedy!!
If you haven't seen it, it was well worth the download time (if you have broadband).
It was the most intense whipping I've ever seen given on TV, and it was all Tucker could do to keep his calm....
Especially the week Stewart was on the "cover of the Rolling Stone".
He confessed to being John Kerry's Butt Boy on cable. Was so far up Kerry's behind kissing ass that he knows what John Kerry has eaten for 2 weeks. No joke.
Jon Stewart has jumped the shark.
Idiots like Carlson and Begala are ruining America. There is no, and I mean no real and serious debate of issues in America any more.
I don't know about Carlson, but having to listen to that jerk would've made me lose my appetite!
Well, For Stewart to say Crossfire is bad for America is strange when his show totally blows and has a total liberal slant... no bias there...
You have to have the leather jacket and motorcycle prior to stepping into the skis to jump the shark.
Jon Stewart's coolness factor is so low he couldn't even jump a minnow.
Jon looked up to Pinky Tuskadero.
No, he's more a Ralph Malph kind of guy.
How can Crossfire be destroying civic life when noone watches that show anymore?
I thought Carlson accused him of being a Kerry butt boy and sniffing the Kerry throne. Over all a much better insult than just calling someone a d**k. I didn't know Tucker had it in him. It seemed a fairly correct observation too. Maybe Tucker is getting a backbone.
