Why I’ll Vote for Kerry
Arab News ^ | Oct. 20, 2004 | James Zogby

WASHINGTON, 20 October 2004 — Because I have been repeatedly asked the question, “For whom will you vote and why?” Let me use this opportunity to respond.

This November, I will vote for John Kerry for president of the United States. I will do so, confident that it is the right thing to do for my country and my community.

Now this doesn’t mean that I agree with all of John Kerry’s positions. I’m a Democrat, but I’ve always challenged my party and its leadership when it was important to do so.

Over the past two decades I’ve helped to lead the fight within the Democratic Party for Palestinian rights, against “secret evidence” and ethnic profiling, and against acquiescence to this disastrous war in Iraq. And during this campaign I have raised strong objections to a number of statements about the Middle East made by Kerry and his vice presidential running mate.

But even with this I repeat: On November 2nd, I will confidently vote for John Kerry. Here’s why: I believe, along with Sen. Kerry, that at stake in this year’s election is the very definition of our nation — the values we seek to protect at home and project to the world.

The last four years have had a devastating effect on our nation. They have tested our national unity and our sense of mission. The Bush administration has pursued domestic and foreign policies that have been both neglectful and reckless. Because of reckless tax cuts a record surplus was turned into record deficits.

Previously strong alliances were compromised by a reckless and radical policy of unilateral preemption,

>>> Zell is impartial, he slightly prefers Democrats over Republicans, as long as they reasonably moderate to conservative AND that they bleed RED WHITE & BLUE.

He also prefers vanilla to chocalate so long as it is brown and high in cocoa content. Zell has been one of the good guys for a while -- staying with the Dem party was absolutely brilliant though.

Let's not forget those "reckless" tax cuts - all they did was lift a struggling economy, left by the Clinton Administration, around so that personal income is up, people are spending money and home ownership, especially among minorities is at an all time high.
Darn those pesky reckless tax cuts!!!!!!
President Bush freed 50 million Muslims but the Arabs are voting against him.
He has been one of the best friends of Isreal but the Jews are voting against him.
With friends like these who needs enemies.

I hope when Bush wins, Zogby is so disgusted he leaves the country to live with his soul mates, the Palestinians. Those are the people no Arab country wants within its borders.

I meant - "who the heck cares who Zogby votes for." He is only one voice, one vote. He thinks he is so powerful. And no, they will not vote themselves into power. IMO

Beers went on to say that a Kerry administration would take steps to end and prevent racial profiling.

Yup, G-Dub took his eyes off of the blond haired, blue eyed islamo-facists

Yes, most of the terrorists who attacked us on 9-11 would have probably voted for Kerry, too. And I am sure he is being supported by alQuida (no proof, you understand), so, look what company that puts Zogby in! He's useless!...or clueless!

You can always mail in more money to the government on your own you know.

I guess the less I have the spend, the less I spend.. and that sure helps a hell of a lot.

Socialism is always good for everyone else.. So, I guess it's time for some to put their own money where their mouth is.

Remember, the democrats can spend it better than you.

Shouldn't pollsters have good math skills?

I agree with you about Zogby only.

There is evidence of block voting around us all... best to take a look.

This the absolute first time I've heard this. I really hope you have substantial proof of this claim.

We knew he was a dem, but this is an endorsement of a candidate. And we're supposed to believe that he would not intentionally skew his polls to favor his candidate!

Zogby should not be taken seriously by anyone. This endorsement should call into question and negate every one of Zogby's poll results. But it won't.

Why do you, Mr. Zogby, even think that we give a flying leap on who you are going to vote for?

Now this doesn’t mean that I agree with all of John Kerry’s positions.

Please Mr. Zogby, tell us which John Kerry positions you don't agree with, for all of Kerry's positions are why I can not take the Flipper seriously.

I see a link from "Arab News" and a thread title "Why I'll vote for Kerry".
Makes sense to me.

This person will be voting with Barbara Streisand and the rest of Hollywood.
Doesn't make sense to me.
