Great stuff!
Last Sunday, on his third trip to the state, Kerry used Miami as the
backdrop for his appearance on Meet the Press. Tim Russert lost no time
reminding him that in 2000 he had said that the United States' Cuba policy
was the woeful result "of the power of the Cuban-American lobby." Quoting
Kerry, Russert said, "We have a frozen, stalemated counterproductive
policy. There's just a complete and total contradiction between the way
we deal with China, the way we deal with Russia, the way we have been
dealing with Cuba. The only reason we don't re-evaluate the policy is the
politics of Florida."
In his fevered pursuit of Cuban-American votes, Kerry again sought to
disavow his record. "All through the years I've been in the Senate, for 20
years, Tim, I have never suggested lifting the embargo," he told Russert. "I
don't suggest you just lift the embargo. That's not what I'm talking about."
God forbid!
Wesley Clark is a clintonoid who appears to have achieved rapid promotion when he supplied Janet Reno with armor used at Waco. He twice nearly succeeded in starting a war with Russia, not only in the famous airport episode but when he tried to sink a couple of Russian spy ships in the Aegean.
In the army he was sometimes known as The Ultimate Perfumed Prince.
PS: I won't necessarily argue with you that Kerry was the worst candidate. Certain worse than Dean, IMHO, who ran a balanced budget in Vermont. But the competition was pretty dismal across the board. All of them freaks and lightweights, including Leibowitz, maybe the best of the bunch.
I heard he was referred to (and not in a nice way) as The Supreme Being.
I thought it was funny, too, cuz you don't stick an enema in the cesspool. :D
Hmmmm...good point! I guess I missed that. Uh oh...does that mean I don't know my a$$ from a hole in the ground? *grin*
Wow! Breathtaking candor for a change. BTTT
