2004-10-19) -- Previously unseen documents released by the Kerry-Edwards campaign today reveal a secret Bush administration plan to draft the elderly into military service.
"If George W. Bush wins this election, I warn you that he will kill two birds with one stone," said John Forbes Kerry, the Democrat presidential candidate. "He'll bail out Social Security by sending our nation's grandparents to the front lines in Iraq to die in the wrong war."
Mr. Kerry, who is also a U.S. Senator, said, "Senior citizens are patriotic, plentiful and many of them still have their old military uniforms and vintage rifles from World War II and Korea. It's a cynical scheme, and that's why this administration is hiding it until January."
According to details of the secret Bush plan, backdoor-drafted National Guard and Reserve troops will come home rapidly as they're replaced by five divisions of combat-ready "geriatric GIs."
To date, the Pentagon has not specifically denied the existence of the alleged secret plan dubbed 'Operation Joint Replacement.'
President Bush, asked to respond to the Kerry allegation during a campaign stop, said, "This is the first I've heard of it. But we don't need to draft our seniors. If we'd let 'em, they'd volunteer. Next question."
I just spit Mountain Dew all over my monitor here at work, thanks!
hahaha
The sad thing is, many Democrats actually believe W would do this.
I wonder how stem cells fit in.
Of course if they are in the guards they may very well go--they volunteered.
I love it! You just made my day!
John Kerry is going to use embryonic stem cells to make 40,000 clones of himself to fight the war against terror, thus making the draft unnecessary.
I hope he drafts my aunt. He deserves it. lol
I wish scrappleface would stop leaking the daily Democratic talking points.
I used to make this same argument twenty-some years ago in college -- a latter-day "Modest Proposal".
Drafting seniors wouldn't be a bad idea (at least the men). You see, they've had combat experience, probably a lot more than a certain Presidential candidate claims to have had in Vietnam, and they EARNED their Purple Hearts. They know how to fight a war and win it, so I say DRAFT THE SENIORS! </sarcasm>
You're absolutely right. He did serve (a third of a tour.) He did volunteer (to leave.) He spoke about his "brothers in arms" when he returned (and how they burned villages, raped women and murdered children.) I find that it is the civic duty of every American voter to question Senator Kerry's distinguished military career. After all, it's simple to question the service of the President. Why not that of a presidential candidate? The man at the helm of the Armed Services should definitely have the stomach for the position. Eisenhower, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Washington; these are but a few of the names of presidents that knew what it was to serve their countries in time of war. You'll find that not one of them left their fellow soldiers to dishonor the service of each and every one of them not even a year after his return from their duty.
Dishonor. There is no greater disqualifier for the commander in chief.

Lately, he's been referring to it as "a war". I'm sure his handlers told him to lay off the V word, but everytime he stifles it, I think his head is about to explode.
Interesting family you got there...
Maybe Kerry can attack them at his next stump speech.
ROFLOL! Thanks for the laugh!
