If the kid is denying he swallowed anything, then he just reaped what he sewed.
The Cops are responsible?? You have got to be kidding me.
"We saw you swallow something."
"It was nothing, it was food."
"We're taking you to the hospital anyway."
LOL.
So, The mother alleges the officer saw her son swallow "something". What is he supposed to do, take the kid and have his stomach pumped for swallowing what could have been a joint? then, if it was just a joint, they would sue the cops for something else.
I doubt the kid said he swallowed cocaine, -until it was too late.
What is a 16 year old kid doing with cocaine in the first place? Driving a new car that, no doubt, he bought from money he saved delivering news papers and cutting lawns?
Or selling Mother's "candy"?
I think there needs to be blame leveled, but it looks like it's his mother that needs to look in the mirror.
Seems to me that the mother may be just a bit biased in reporting "what the police admitted." Time will tell.
She would have learned from the autopsy, though. I'm not sure either how the mom knows that the cops saw her son swallow it. That's the part I have trouble with.
If I'm the judge, I'd have just one question: Was the boy forced to swallow the cocaine or was it his own decision?
Answer: "It was his own decision"
Me, the judge: "Case dismissed."
And they knew it was cocaine how?
They saw him swallow cocaine according to Pryor's mother.
I believe the mother witnessed him swallowing the cocaine. She obviously kept silent when the police took him into custody. Looks like she should have protected her son's health before she protected his "legal *ss".
Yes, they admit they saw him swallow the drugs and didn't take him to a hospital for hours. Knowing what he did, he should have been taken immediately to a hospital for an encounter with a stomache pump or ipecac.
Stupidity is a Capital Offense.
Harsh but I tend to agree!
Apparently is wasn't clear before.
MY POST WAS BASED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT THE COPS SAW HIM SWALLOW COCAINE.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS OBVIOUSLY SPECULATION.
THAT IS WHY I STARTED MY POST WITH "If they did see him swallow cocaine . . ."
LEARN TO FRIGGIN READ A POST BEFORE BITING MY HEAD OFF!!!
The source of the police behavior is the mother.
Who, my boy? My boy is a good boy.
Might have been "moms" and maybe she thought she would visit him after he had a good dump. Sorry I don't feel sorry for people who make very bad decisions when the right decision is given to them free of charge and liability.
Where does the story say anyone but the mother witnessed the boy swallowing the cocaine? It also does not say she told police that he swallowed cocaine.
The biggest drug user I ever knew said "if you can't handle it, leave it the f*ck alone."
Where does the story say anyone but the mother saw him swallow cocaine? did i miss it?
No need to shout.
The post I responded to began, "The point is, they saw him swallow cocaine."
Hence, the reason for my reply.
"Pryor was carrying $1000 in cash, as well as the crack cocaine. Attorney Reed, however, says this does not justify the treatment of the 16-year-old."
Police say Pryor had a history of drug arrests.
"According to officials, officers repeatedly asked the teenager if he had swallowed drugs, and he told them no. Pryor then went into convulsions in the holding cell, and officers called an ambulance right away."
"Attorney Reed told press, "I want the people to know, Quantrell was somebody. Quantrell has a family. He was not an animal, and he didnt deserve to die like an animal."
Hey. He was and he did. Scumbag crack dealer -- good riddance to bad garbage.
