October 19, 2004 -- The woman who's suing TV personality Bill O'Reilly for sexual harassment boasted she had written a book to "take [him] down" months before she went back to work for him, a witness swore yesterday.Andrea Mackris also bragged that she was good buddies with O'Reilly's arch nemesis Air America talk show host Al Franken, the witness said.
"What we thought we had here was somebody trying to hit us up for a lot of money, but now we know it's much more than that," said O'Reilly's lawyer, Ronald Green.
Green said the bombshell revelation came from Upper West Side restaurateur Matthew Paratore, who owns a bar that Fox associate producer Andrea Mackris used to frequent before she was barred for loud, lewd and indecent behavior at the beginning of the summer.

She apparently shopped the book to a publisher during her short stint at CNN and told Paratore that "the publisher told her it needed something more. It needed more impact," the lawyer said. Mackris, who continued socializing with O'Reilly while she was working at CNN, went back to work for him in June 2004. Soon after, her suit says, O'Reilly started engaging in the unwanted phone sex with her.

maybe we can hope there's a way they can both lose in this...
If this is true, a lot of people here might have to eat their words. IF. Wow! Great find Kat!
So, that is why Al Franken didn't have much to say about O'Reilly. I thought that was strange.
******
Meanwhile, O'Reilly's arch-nemesis Al Franken has weighed in on the scandal but refrained from gloating too much over the lewd legal battle. The left-leaning author and radio host told PAGE SIX: "It's a sad thing. If it's true, I think it's a very sad thing, and I feel sorry for his wife. It'll just have to play itself out."

From post: "She apparently shopped the book to a publisher during her short stint at CNN and told Paratore that "the publisher told her it needed something more. "
If true - people now know why she went back to Fox net.
But it still sounds like an adult game they "both" were playing - or at least one may have thought that it was a game - and should have known better -
Sounds like this couldn't have happened to a nicer couple - (grin)
Maybe this was what Drudge intimated many weeks ago on his radio show?
Oooh, she could end up in jail if this is true.
all that matters is: does she have tape(s) or not. if she does, oreilly gets what he deserves. if she doesnt, then her 15 minutes are over.
MY OH MY! If that witness is telling the truth, Mackris may be the one who has to pay up in court! This story is loaded with damaging details. I love the part where Mackris' attorney (a Kerry-supporting Democrat) hangs up the phone and refuses to offer any explanation for his client's alleged behavior. Christmas comes early for O'Reilly.
To answer your question: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Watch out here. The NY Post has some affiliation with Fox, and is touting the O'Reilly line here. Also, she was not the one booted out of the restaurant for being loud, obnoxious, etc. The person who approached her table (their was a party nearby) while she was eating dinner w/her disable mother, got in a tug of war over the other person wanting to take one of the chairs from her table. For whatever reason, it escalated, and it was the other party, not her, that was booted out of the restaurant. So, be careful about what you read, and what may be true and what may not be. Time will tell.
If O'Reilly was set up by Al Franken and/or CNN and/or Mackris and/or her Kerry fundraiser of an attorney, every decent person should defend him because any one of us could be railroaded someday for what we believe. If O'Reilly is only with us 40, 50 or 60 percent of the time, that's 40, 50, or 60 percent more than many in the liberal media.
"eat their words"
Funny you should say that because from the beginning I smelled a rat. When a woman is being truly harrassed .. the last thing she would do is return to work for the same guy. When I heard she left and went to CNN and THEN SUDDENLY returned to work for Bill .. those facts just stunk to high heaven.
I do feel sorry for Bill's wife. Regardless of my non-affection for Bill, I don't wish this kind of attack upon anyone - especially when it begins to appear more and more like the little lady was setting Bill up.
Are you suggesting that the fact that this woman may have lied for monetary gain, using the NOW gang's favorite hit, should be ignored?
Any chance the Big O might add an Andrea Macris line to his Factor Gear?
