A friend of mine just got this email-letter from the folks at Rock the Vote. It manages to be galling, lame, offensive and silly all at once:
Dear [Name Withheld], We just received an outrageous letter from the Chairman of the Republican Party, demanding that we stop talking about the issue of the military draft.
He said that the draft issue is just an urban myth and Rock the Votes effort is being conducted with reckless disregard for the truth.
The truth is that we still havent received acceptable answers from the candidates to real questions affecting our lives. The possibility of a draft is not a hoax. Its a real issue that deserves real answers.
An attempt to silence us by any politicianDemocrat, Republican, Whateveris unacceptable. This is one of the most important issues affecting our generation. And thats why we need to stand up and make our voices heard right away.
Below is the letter that Rock the Vote sent back to the Chairman. Please read it.
If you like what we are saying, sign our petition to the Chairmen of both the Republican and Democratic parties asking them to answer some key questions that we have about the draft:

Were not going to stop talking about the issue of a draft simply because it makes the politicians squirm. Were not going to let Congress think that a phony vote against the draft settles the matter.
By sending thousands of email draft cards and talking to your friends about the possibility of a draft, you ignited a national dialogue. If you have any doubt, just look at the last two presidential debatesboth of which included questions for both candidates on the draft.
Click here to tell both parties that we need answers to some fundamental questions affecting our lives:

Sincerely, Jehmu Greene President
PS. And please donate now to support our efforts to make the candidates address this issue. Donate to our campaign today.

I'll donate all right. To the NRA!!!! Bawhahahahaha!!!!
I feel for the parents of any kids swayed by MTV and Rock the Vote. It must be hard to realize that your kid grew up and you gave birth to no survivors.
The "Rock the Vote" people were one of the groups pushing the "Motor Voter" nonsense that ultimately passed, thereby allowing illegal aliens and criminals to more easily join the voting population. They are in the propaganda business, first and foremost, and they are decidely left-wing.
If the President says no draft then what's the issue. The only answer is that they think the President is lying. Let them think what they like.
MTV: created by misguided children for other misguided children.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTE 402 against draft - 2 for draft.
In order for their to be a draft .. you'd have to start with this congressional body - and since the republicans outnumber the dems .. it's a no go for the draft.
Also .. it was the dem CARTER who initiated the draft .. and it was Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, when the DRAFT WAS STOPPED in 1976.
DOD says - all quotas for enlistment in ALL UNITS OF THE MILITARY HAVE BEEN MET - THERE IS NO NEED FOR A DRAFT!!
Well a vote for Kerry may get you a draft. The only people who put the draft up for a vote are the dems. Not to mention at least one of my sons has stated that he will definatly not reup under Kerry and he said that a lot of his buddies have said the same thing.
It can't be too phoney when RANGEL - THE IDIOT WHO PROPOSED IT - VOTED AGAINST IT.
All they were missing in Team America were the fools at MTV. They deserved to be blown up by some 18 year old kid supposedly "drafted" by the future president.
I hope they all know that Canada will not accept them anymore, we are going to send them back. We already have enough whiny crybabies here.
I got the same message from them just because I am 18. I e-mailed them back letting them know that I do not need them to send me their propaganda. They are so biased it's sad that some teens actually get their information from them.
"under 30"
I guess that's why you can't run for President until you're at least 35 .. LOL!!
