Sept. 11 widows slam Bush's anti-terror record

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A group of widows of September 11 victims slammed President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s record against terrorism, accusing the US leader of making the United States less safe and of bringing terrorism to Iraq (news - web sites).

"He has made us less secure," said Monica Gabrielle, a member of the widows' group, which is supporting Democratic White House hopeful John Kerry (news - web sites) in the November 2 election.

"There are many things that have not been done here at home which could have been," she said in a telephone conference with reporters. "This president had three years with the Republican Congress to get so much more done to make us safer."

Gabrielle decried what she called Bush's "stubborn arrogance."

"How can we trust you to lead us in the future when you have failed so poorly in the past?" asked another widow, Mindy Kleinberg.

"Now we brought the terrorism to Iraq," said a third widow, Lorie Van Auken. "The terrorists that we create today may come back to attack our children tomorrow."

The group endorsed Kerry last month and decried Bush's response to the September 11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

"The terrorists that we create today may come back to attack our children tomorrow."

Ma'am, we're taking the attack to the terrorists today so that your children may have a tomorrow!

I feel badly for the loss of their family members, but it's hard to sympathize with them when they say crap like this...

At least we don't have to deal with that loathsome Breitweiser person in this article.

I am willing to bet those widows took that million+half charity (victims relief fund money) rather greedily and were not concerned about President Bush. They should be blaming klintoon for failing to do anything in 8 years except for Monica. These women are being paid by the DNC to stage these events. I say this to those B'atches, STFU you got a million+half for your loss. A soldiers spouse gets a mere $200,000. for their lost loved one(s). If you don't like our President and America get your sorry asses out. Bush/Cheney 2004

The Malcontent Widows. They weren't feeling less secure when they took the (Victim(s) Fund" money. They must have spent all that long green and are now yoing for the DNC for some chumps change. Dafur needs some new recruits, maybe they will apply. (America Love It Or Leave It.)Bush/Cheney 2004

Tom Kean, Robert Toricelli and assorted other dems exploited the widows for political gain. They were like sheep to the slaughter, merrily going along for attention.

That they are jeopardizing the rest of us has not occurred to them.

Remember too that Lisa Beamer, self avowed republican, wrote a guest editorial in the New York Times telling everyone to vote for Toricelli for Senate instead of Forrester.

About two days later Toricelli resigned and Lisa Beamer has not been heard from again.

Shameless exploitation, but then that's what the dems are all about.

Unfortunately this kind of stuff plays well with the MSM. The intention is to keep this kind of tactic alive with all sorts of false accusations to scare and intimidate people to vote for the squeaky clean candidate wearing a nice shiny halo: Mr John Kerry and the Boy Blunder.

There is very little time to refute all of the accusations floating out there and it could tragically erode away the presidents lead.

The left knows how to play the people and this kind of tactic generally works, so look for an increasing intensity over the last days before the election.

So far I'm proud to say there doesn't appear to be a lot of Kerry votes in this part of Arizona... I know it's going to be different in Flagstaff because NAU is so liberal..

Anyone with a modicum of class would have gratefully accepted their compensation for the loss of their hisbands and then promptly SHUT UP.
