The Dems think America should move past this, so that we can concentrate in the next few weeks on JFK's faith healing, Bush's plan to starve old people and draft young ones, Republicans' plan to suppress blacks, and whatever other bizarre idiotic charges they can come up with between now and Nov. 2nd.

I hope the Republicans keep saying it:

"These people will say anything to get elected!"

May you shouldn't go calling your opponent's daughter a dyke on national television. Voters don't seem to like that.

Personally, I did not find the comment offensive, but it does point out how far out of touch the DemocRATS are. Also poor judgment on that part of the DNC. Think of the idiots that a Kerry presidency would bring to his administration.

I think women hate it most, because a lot of them are really sensitive to sex.... as in, most of them have something to hide (maybe a lesbian encounter or two), and they'd be mortified to have it announced like that.

Notice how both Lurch and the Breck Girl both, within days, came out with the same comment.

This was totally scripted, and planned for as part of a strategy.

Question: whose strategy? Who is advising the kery campaign?

Why, it's Carville, Begala, and Lockhart, that's who...

Hillary is torpedoing Kerry.

The laughable part is these dummies are played so well. They don't even know they are being politically killed.

Kerry/DNC message to gay community:
"If we feel like it, we'll out you."

Not only was the response stupid, it wasn't even responsive.

""John Kerry was being positive," said Mr. Devine. "Unfortunately, it [the remark] was perceived otherwise. And I think I know why. The president lost three debates to John Kerry. The president's position is eroding in the polls. The president cannot defend his record over the last four years." "

Barney Frank coached Kerry for the debates. Kerry could have mentioned him and this would never have been an issue.

Kerry opened the barn. The horse just ran him over... as usual.

He didn't actually refer to Mary Cheney as a Lesbian....if you listen to a tape of the debate he said "who is a ....
....lesbianshewouldtellyou....." He could have tripped himself up, intending to say "gay", but used the article "a", and had to finally settle on the word "lesbian" which was uttered at warp speed, and quickly appended to the following words "she would tell you".
Either way, he's a scumbag, the renewed "outing" of Mary Cheney was intentional, so that no one should forget, and whoever could use it negatively against the Bush Administration could go ahead and use it, and it finally culminated in the most disgusting and outrageous words uttered thus far, by Tubby Edwards, Breck GIrl's wife: that Lynn CHeney apparently feels "shame" about her daughter's "sexual preference". With these words we are right back at the worst Carvile-ian tactics during the worst weeks of the Clinton scandal(S).

It is interesting to not that the donks are playing defense - and are rather offensive about it.

Here's what gets me: Why on earth didn't Mr. & Mrs. Edwards and John Kerry himself say they were sorry for offending Mr. & Mrs. Cheney and their family? I have yet to hear an apology. Instead they went on the defensive and even accused the Cheney's of being "ashamed of their daughter". It's the most amazing thing. It's because the democrats have no moral compass from which to steer.

Everyone seems to miss the main point regarding this comment by Kerry:

Who the heck is he to speak on behalf of Mary Cheney and state what she believes, feels, etc. He does not speak for her...probably never met her and never spoke with her.

How can someone who desires to be President show such lack of respect and poor judgement on a personal issue with a private citizen!

This has NOTHING to do with her being gay...that's what the Dems WANT us to be discussing. He had no business speaking on her behalf for ANY issue. Period. Apology required.

sorry for use of CAPS...that moron irritates me to no end!

The Rats would be having a hissy fit if the president said ANTYHING about one of Kerry's daughters.

Kerry and Edwards taking the time to mention the sexuality of the vice president's daughter is so below the already low level of discourse that we expect from the Rats that I'm surprised he hasn't lost even more votes.

If Kerry loses, it's because he turned off so many voters with that comment.

They're desperate. The Kerry Campaign and its Old Media handlers are too obtuse to recognize the extent of the damage the candidate's assault on political custom has created for him. They're deep in denial. And if Ronald Brownstein's front-pager in the Dog Trainer today is any indication, the mainstream media wants to avoid talking about Kerry's problems at all. That's the upside-down nature of the world Kerry and his friends in the press live in.

Had Kerry even answered the question when he used Mary Cheney as an example, that would be less damaging.

However, as usual, he never answered the question.

The furor began during last week's presidential debate, when President Bush and Senator Kerry were asked if they believe homosexuality is a choice. Mr. Bush said he did not know.

"I think, if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she is being who she was [is]. She is being who she was born as," replied Mr. Kerry.

So, he THINKS that if you ask Mary, she JUST MIGHT, MAYBE, KINDA say YES or NO.

His answer can be deciphered, but really takes no official stand on the issue.

she would tell you that she is being who she was.

And what is that. Human, or female, or lesbian, or born rich, or what?

She is being who she was born as,"

Ok. Again... Human, small, hungry, female baby.

I rather doubt that anyone ever looks at their newborn, and says, (he or)She is gay.

I rather doubt God creates newborns gay. It is counterproductive to the species.
