What other polls are out soon? What are our expectations, assumptions, and guesses?

Good question. I just read in the Wash. Post over the weekend that Bush is 5 pts ahead overall, but 10 pts behind in the battle ground states. If that's true, it's not good!

The poll on election day!

Seriously though, national polls aren't really this issue at this point...it would seem to me that state polls would be more important.

I read this morning about the Marriage Amendment and all the battleground states where this would appear on the ballot.

I think, as in Missouri, the voter turn out will be influenced by this being on the ballot, and we know in Missouri, they expected around a 50 percent pass and got a 72 percent vote. None of the polls predicted anything near that number.

I suspect Senator Dukakis, oops I mean Kerry will be hitting up Zogby real hard to float a bogus poll real soon.

Ahead 5 national but down 10 in battleground states? That would be the first such disparity to hold in this universe ..if it were an alternate universe...unless most of the battleground states are blue ;-)

Already did this AM, look for Zog to give Kerry a 1 point lead tomorrow for a headline.

I want to see a Mason-Dixon or Columbus Dispatch poll of OH. If national polls are accurate, it should show a bush lead. A Mason_dixon from WI, IA, OR, FL would be nice. Hopefully we'll get some tomorrow

It'll happen, he did it for Gore. At this time in 2000 Zogby had Gore up 2, and ahead in Florida. He also floated the idea that Gore would win the electoral vote, but lose the popular vote.

The only poll you should be looking to is the one you are going to personally participtate in on Nov 2.

It also sounds mathematically impossible.

Yup. And when NJ and PA are called for Bush around 8:04 PM it will all be over for Kerry.

Wishful thinking??

If you can't find the article on the web to link, please advise what day, the author, and the page of the article. Thanks in advance.

As late as early on Election Day one year I remember the pollsters and networks saying it was going to be a close race. By the 6:30pm news NBC was saying that it might be a substantial victory. Election coverage wasn't scheduled to start until 8:00, and with no cable or internet I watched NBC beginning at 7:00, which was the only network starting early in Cleveland.

A few minutes after 8:00, NBC called the election for Reagan; later, Jimmah conceded while polls were still open out West.

So, I don't trust any of them.
