As this is written (in September, 2004):
1. We have over 15 MILLION illegal aliens in this country.
2. Another 3 MILLION pour over our “borders” each year.
3. Another 1.3 MILLION arrive legally.
4. Assuming these rates of increase do not rise – a tenuous assumption at best – our population will rise by an added 200 MILLION in less than 50 years.
5. Our current LEGAL citizen birth rate is level at approximately 2.3 per, just about a legal population replacement level.
If unchecked, our kids will not inherit the America many of us did: They will inherit an America more closely resembling the Third World disasters most of these illegals left behind. They are bringing – have BROUGHT -- that disaster here!
WHAT YOU CAN (MUST) DO – NOW!!
1. Write President Bush at president@whitehouse.gov , fax him at 202-456-2461 or call him at 202-456-1414 and DEMAND that he deport 13 million illegal aliens and ENFORCE OUR CURRENT, ON THE BOOKS NOW IMMIGRATION LAWS!
2. Contact YOUR Congressman and Senators and tell them that you’re mad as hell and won’t take it any more – ESPECIALLY since the 9/11 attack by 19 aliens – 18 OF WHOM WERE HERE ILLEGALLY! Go to their periodic town hall meetings and let them – and the OTHER citizens there – know that it’s time to move on this critical issue. BE SURE TO TELL YOUR SENATORS THAT YOU ARE STRONGLY IN FAVOR OF THE HOUSE VERSION OF H.R.10 (IMPLEMENTING THE 9/11 COMMISSION FINDINGS) AND DO NOT SUPPORT THE WATERED DOWN SENATE VERSION. (WWW.SENATE.GOV) (WWW.HOUSE.GOV)
3. Call Border Patrol head Asa Hutchinson at 202-282-8355 and DEMAND that his people maintain sweeps and continue rigorous enforcement by arresting illegal aliens – AND their employers!
4. Report illegal aliens working on a job-site to Immigration at 1-866-347-2423 (TOLL FREE).
5. Support organizations that enable impoverished people around the world to STAY in their own communities (where most of them would RATHER be) where they can create a decent living through entrepreneurship, training and seed money to start home grown businesses. A search on www.charitynavigator.com will help find them.
6. Support organizations that provide family planning resources and knowledge so that couples might have fewer children and provide a better life for their smaller families.
7. Support the call for a 10 YEAR MORATORIUM on ALL immigration so we can assimilate those already now here LEGALLY. After the moratorium, we must limit LEGAL immigration to 100,000 per year – and they MUST SPEAK ENGLISH BEFORE COMING HERE!
8. Speak out on the radio talk shows and write letters-to-the-editor on the subject – ESPECIALLY in rebuttal to stories and letters from the opposition.

I wouldn't mind contributing to them if they were trying to do something about the problem. But they're not. They flat out refuse to enforce our federal laws. The very laws they are sworn to uphold. They will get no support or money from me..

This nation has clearly LOST ITS MIND. And the frequent result of insanity is -- as Abe pointed out -- SUICIDE!

I attended a meeting over the week-end on this subject and one of the speakers -- an otherwise rational, thoughtful and intelligent gentleman -- commented that if this problem is NOT adequately addressed by elected officials, the prospect of VIGILANTE JUSTICE looms on the horizon.
And if -- God forbid -- there IS a breakdown of the rule of law among the angrier sectors of the public, they will no doubt point to the massive failure of enforcement of current immigration law as their justification.

We have new neighbors out in the country. We were talking about an old one-room school house that we could both see and wondering what was to become of it. I said they were planning on making it a 7-11, she said that would be great! I was joking, she wasn't.
Of course they wouldn't be wrong in trying to protect their culture, heritage and families but I'm beginning to think more and more that the WOT has a dual purpose.....protect the country from outside terrorist groups AND to quell the domestic backlash that certainly is coming when Americans finally figure out they've been set and sold out by the smiling, blow dried traitors in DC.
Although I believe you are right for the most part, there are some exceptions....people who really do want to live the American dream and strive hard to assimilate into our society.

A new four lane bridge was built to replace the old two lane. People moved out in droves because of the quiet rural atmosphere. They fled the city to escape crime and high taxes. Now Gloucester has crime, higher taxes, traffic jams, urban sprawl …

In addition to a major threat to our security, these criminals also harm our quality of life, damage the environment and gene pool, etc. etc.

I once stated something on a FR thread to the effect of, "if left unchecked, in 20 years we won't recognise America because it will be a spanish speaking country with Latin-American traditions". I was flamed by some Miami FReepers who demanded to know why that was such a bad thing to happen. They brought to my attention that maybe it's time for America to "evolve" to such a state.
I must tell you that I had to do some heavy soul searching that day! I am not a bigotted person. I try very hard to get along with everyone. But truthfully, I had to admit (and very possibly to my shame, I don't know) that I didn't want to see America become "Latino"... I didn't want my great grandkids to be speaking spanish as their native language!
Since then I have been afraid to think about this, much less to post anything about it. And yet it weighs heavily on my mind. Am I wrong to think this way? I don't really know.
I would love to be able to quit teaching and go to work for one of the organizations above. Just don't know how to pursue that goal.
