I teach film courses and I tell/show the students that the very best films and directors have never gotten awards.
I will be showing FahrenHYPE 9-11 in a few weeks as an example of a documentary...I don't know if I should show it before or after the elections...any advice anyone?
Schools have showed Moore's film all over, so go for it before the election
I would show it before the elections. If Michael Moore can show his before, then you can certainly give another view before the elections. You're students should see the opposing view.
"any advice anyone?"
Start working on your resume.
Be bold like SINCLAIR, GO AGAINST THE ESTABISHMENT, SHOW IT BEFORE THE ELECTION,,,,, SHOW IT EARLY AND OFFTEN.
SHOW FahrenHYPE 9 - 11 EARLY AND SHOW IT OFFTEN.
and after. (emphatic enough?) and have final exam revolve around it!
suggestions from a former teacher & movie fanatic (and friend)
I can see Moore getting a nomination for Nonfiction's Documentary. What, no category ? well, make one.
I will continue to enjoy movies.(okay, I am a hopeless addict) I don't go to movie stars for medical, relational OR political advice. I go to be entertained. But for personal reasons I boycott: Loreal hair products, French Wine & ANYTHING Michael Moore. He reminds me of Java from Star Wars
I can see for Passion Best Pix & Best Actor (for Jim C) awards...special effects were good but wont compete with LOTR & Harry Potter.
