SEASON PREMIERE
Wednesday, October 20, 9:30PM ET/PT
CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE stars Emmy Award nominee John Goodman in a comedy about a family man who, by default, is the go-to guy for his eccentric extended clan. John (Goodman) and Kate Barnett (Jean Smart) are still very much in love after 20 years of marriage and are looking forward to the next 20. Only one thing interrupts their bliss: John's family. His sex-obsessed father, Art (Ed Asner), and his loopy mother, Marge (Olympia Dukakis), have a penchant for coming over unannounced, ready to stir the pot. The owner of a security company, John has just hired his gleefully oblivious brother, Tommy (Diedrich Bader), who is having trouble wrapping his mind around the concept of office hours. John's sister, Lily (Melinda McGraw), is a therapist who is her own best patient. If all that is not enough, their 12-year-old son, Miles (Spencer Breslin), has the makings of a perfectly nutty third-generation Barnett. As the family patriarch, John, with Kate's help, fights an uphill battle to keep the peace while his oddball family spins around him.
"Our father who Art obsessive. Hollyweird, this is lame."
GREAT job.....excellent 'wordsmith'-ing! Take a bow!
Asner called conservative "Nazis" on H and C and give a chance to retract, he continued with the tirade.
Oh no, ANOTHER show on CBS I won't be watching. The only CBS show that I WILL be watching in "Stolen Honor" which will be airing on the local Sacramento, California CBS affiliate (Sinclair Broadcasting owned) KOVR, at 7:00 p.m. on October 23rd.
Just another ANTI-FAMILY ANTI-AMERICAN sitcom! Garbage!!
I saw the first episode in a marketing test. It was horrid! I mean, really, really bad! They didn't pay any attention at all to my feedback, obviously.
Where's the Barf Alert?
I never watch sitcoms on national television, haven't for years!
LOL.....jumped the shark already?!
And the theme song for the show is "The Internationale".
I hated John Goodman's impersonation of Linda Tripp on SNL. What a cruel jerk. He's more believable as the husband of RoseAnn Barr than he is of Jean Smart. As for Asner, well, being a Christian woman, I cannot say how I feel about him. (paraphrasing the "Wizard of Oz")
No thanks.
hey couldn't find a way to squeeze in Ellen Degeneris?
I can see that you are deeply in touch with progressive thinking.
"Sounds like a twist on 'Everybody Loves Raymond'."
You're too quick. That's not fair.
