Mahathir asks Muslims to vote out Bush
By Khalid Hasan
WASHINGTON: Former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohammad has appealed to American Muslims not to vote for George Bush on November 2.
In an open letter sent to the community, believed to number seven million, the former prime minister said during the past four years of the Bush presidency, the Muslims and their countries had suffered oppression and humiliation as never before in the history of Islam.
There is an obvious connection between the sufferings of the Muslims and the policies and thinking of Bush. We cannot expect much change to the policies of the United States of America towards Islam and the Muslims under Democrats as under Republicans. But we have a duty to ensure that Bush will not be able to determine our fate for four more years, he said.
Kerry, the Malaysian leader conceded, may not be any different, but the candidates for the presidency of the United States must be made aware that in democratic America, Muslim citizens have a voice and can influence the selection of the rulers of the country. Bush has shown that despite his protests, he is the cause of the tragedies in Afghanistan, Palestine and Iraq. People, including children, women, sick and disabled people, have been and are being killed in these countries who otherwise would be alive today. Under the pretext of attacking terrorists, whole towns and villages with their populations are being destroyed by rockets and bombs. In Palestine, Israeli gun-ships and tanks razed villages and towns to the ground killing innocent men, women and children. All these are done with the approval of President Bush and his veto in the United Nations Security Council. There is no doubt that he will continue to do this if re-elected, he told American Muslims. He said he did not wish to dwell on the atrocities committed against the Muslims and Islam, but would like to appeal to Muslim citizens and voters of America to be united and to cast their votes against Bush, in the name of justice, in the name of Islam. You may not be numerous enough but in marginal constituencies you can make a difference. It is your bounden duty to send a message to candidates that they must be fair to all the communities in the United States if they wish to rule the country. Even if you fail to unseat Bush, you can at least reduce his majority, concluded the message.
What an evil SOB. His idea of fair is to allow terrorist/murderers run wild and praise them but condemn any response to murder. Words (that Jim Robinson will allow on this site) fail me. Jim, how about a 24 hour free fire at liberals and terrorists?
Muslims think that they are so smart. Lets see how smart they are if Kerry wins. I can see Kerry putting Marshal Law into effect and rounding them all up into cages, then sending them back home where they belong. I just figure Kerry to be that type of person.
Suggestion for Andy Rooney commentary.---
It really bothers me that our foreign enemies can order our domestic enemies to vote our President out of office so we can have a scumbag coward for President instead of one who wants to defeat the enemy. And our domestic enemies must obey. It is part of the rules of the cult they belong to.
Does this bother anyone else?
Another terrorist states his preference for the US Presidency.
LOL! HA! HA! HA! HA! So funny!
Here is a man most worthy of deportation. Why do we put up with this BS?!
WTF??? Jews do NOT think it's OK to have sex with children. That passage refers to a rabbinical debate as to whether or not a girl who *has* been sexually abused as a child can still be considered a virgin when it comes time for her to marry.
IOW, the rabbinical opinion is far more compassionate than many other views of its day. If the girl has been abused, she can still be considered a virgin at marriage.
The "piece of wood" reference (can't remember which passage has it) has to do with the difference between the hymen being broken as a result of *the virgin* choosing immoral sexual activity, vs. the hymen being broken by some "mechanical" (and thus morally insignificant) means.
It does NOT absolve the sexual abuser of moral responsibility. It says clearly that there's no stain of immorality on the innocent victim.
"Muslims and their countries had suffered oppression and humiliation "
Don't whine and blame Bush. The entire world will continue despising you no matter who is elected, if you want the oppression and humiliation to stop, quit the world wide butchering!
I didn't write this, it is written in my ex-muslim friend's diary. I know nothing about the Jews, only that it was a Jew that came to save the world. All I know is that the most loved man in the world is a Jew and his name is Jesus.
Probably getting tired of getting spanked..the only reason we haven't gone ballistic, is because the whole world is watching. But now that the Iraq Army is starting to stand on their feet, we can go in and they can take the lead, takes the spot lite off of our Troops and lets them do their job........
Quite a distorted view of the history of islam.
It's like mohamed had said to the muslim world, "Don't do anything until I get back." He hasn't and they haven't...
I'm gonna be watching to see if their vote changes significantly this year from 2000. If so it will evidence the fact that Muslims are less interested in the welfare of their adopted country than they are their former countries.
I don't buy at any dollar stores because they're almost all owned by Muslims. I shop at the "99 Cent Only" chain owned by an elderly American couple in California.
Kind of tells ya that the muslims think Kerry won't fight the war on terror doesn't it?
Another reason--as if we needed more--to vote for Dubya.
Sorry, Mr. Former Prime Minister, the ones inflicting the most violence on Muslims are (drumroll) OTHER MUSLIMS.
The only reason any Muslims will vote against Bush is that they don't like seeing their terrorist brethren getting one-way tickets to Allah.
