Who Will Follow John Kerry?

Posted on 10/17/2004 9:44:34 AM PDT by tomnbeverly

In his 2004 DNC opening remark John Kerry said, “I am reporting for duty”, it is imperative today for Americans to ask themselves exactly what that means. If John Kerry wins election in Nov it would be the height of hypocrisy for him to ask any man to die for something that he has readily deemed a mistake (Iraq). His very own words and actions from 1971 spell doom for our military defense.

He was asked in the first debate about his comments from 1971 but he glossed over the question and never answered it. What he did say is this war is a mistake now, but it will not be when I am President. How does he come to this conclusion unless he believes that the military leadership day to day on the ground is prosecuting the war wrong and who would believe this conclusion. What is his strategy?

In the first debate he talked of coercing countries by leaving the war on their doorstep is that what we want to do? He called the existing coalition the coerced and bribed but I fear his words mean he will coerce and bribe other countries to take a more active role and what if they won’t? He talked of dropping the war on the doorstep of the UN, in view of the Dulfer report that strategy is a plan for disaster.

Our military leadership and our military servicemen who fight today for the cause of bringing Freedom and Liberty to the Middle East understand why they are fighting. The President has made clear his strategic goals of bringing peace to areas ripe with terrorists so that we do not have to face these terrorists at home in the streets and school yards of America. Our Military understand this cause and vision and a great leader has instilled in them a strong resolve to accomplish this goal. Our President has laid out a clear plan and agenda that attacks the terrorist threat at its core, you have to agree that the cause is a Nobel goal to bring Peace and Freedom and to end tyranny and oppression in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is the same strategic goal that we have had in every war that we have ever fought.

Today on the eve of an election we have to ask ourselves key questions on where we want America to go in the future. In his most famous quote that has defined this man, in 1971 John Kerry said, “How do we ask any man to be the last man to die for a mistake” (Vietnam). In 2004 in the first debate John Kerry said the War in Iraq is a mistake. John Kerry says he will see this war to a conclusion but will the military follow John Kerry to that conclusion? What is the goal? John Kerry has not provided an end goal for that conclusion.

He says he has a plan but he has not said he has a goal. I have looked through all the transcripts of his speeches he never once has mentioned that bringing Freedom and Liberty to the Middle East is his primary goal. He has never mentioned Freedom or Liberty once in all his rhetoric. Although many of our professional military that understand the Presidents goal, as Nobel, will continue to fight because they believe that George W. Bush is right.

However, we have to ask ourselves at what level of commitment will we as Americans demand our servicemen to fight if we follow John Kerry to his conclusions of this war being a grand diversion and mistake. At the very least a Kerry Presidency will lead to our military fighting with less enthusiasm and some may very well put down their arms and walk away invoking their Commander In Chief’s own words and campaign rhetoric as their rationale. As our soldiers die in Iraq and our military falters from ambivalence, will John Kerry comfort the parents of these servicemen? What words could he use? Will he continually blame everything on George W. Bush? Could we blame the military if they refused to fight under the leadership of John Kerry? How could John Kerry hold them to account?

One scenario would be that a large percentage of the military would simply get out at the end of their service obligation. John Kerry is trying to attract 40,000 more troops to sign on to the military. Who will fight for an anti-war activist who damaged his reputation and the reputation of thousands of war veterans all around the United States? Who would fight for a man that gave the enemy in 1971 for free what many POW’s suffered and died to protect? What happens then?

Will John Kerry be forced to institute a draft? Will he be forced to turn over our military operations to the UN? Even then will the drafted fight? Will the UN wield the power of the US military? Has America even asked herself these questions?

We are the most powerful nation in the world because we fight Nobel causes and we have the military strength to protect ourselves from those that would do us harm. Being an Anti-War Candidate and a prior anti-war activist in a time of war has extremely critical implications to the prosecution of that war. Both candidates agree this war must be won. Who has the plan and the allegiance of the military to win it? I have been looking to the media to ask these hard questions of John Kerry. The polling indicates that military allegiance belongs to the President. I have been looking to the media to hold John Kerry to some account for his anti-war activities in the early 1970’s and to bring this man full circle so we may see him for what he truly is. I have been looking to the media to help America come to some conclusions about this man that would be President. I am sure the press will get around to it eventually, right? What if they don’t?

I know a lot of good troops that plan on bailing if Comrade Kerry wins. He'll never get the 40,000 additional troops he says he's going to add. He'll have to try to reinstate the draft. He doesn't understand that GI's aren't like unionized teachers and firefighters--they don't do it for the money like some cheap prostitute.

Well..I can tell you from my small corner as an Army Mom. If Bush is re-elected I KNOW all the men in my son's platoon will re-up. If Kerry wins they won't. Period. I know some soldiers who wanted the war fought differently- who disagreed with some of the decisions made in the Pentagon- but to a man- they will vote for Bush.

Ya know, this is a GREAT point! He votes for the war, but against funding the war because he thinks it's a mistake driven by lies - That's what he has indicated. If this is the case, why wouldn't he just bring home the troops and let Iraq go in the hell hole of history as failed since they are about 10% of a coalition he deems insignificant.

No matter what face Kerry presented at the debates, he is at heart an appeaser and a pacifist - witness his conduct upon returning home from Vietnam. We cannot have such a man as CINC in a time of war!

Almost as bad as his conduct in the 1970s has been his recent conduct in his campaign. He - along with other leading Dems - is causing more deaths in Iraq. The terrorists are merely holding on, hoping that he gets elected, knowing that they will get a 'deal' of some sort from him. One could extrapolate that his conduct has been treasonous. But JFK and Ted Kennedy and Al Gore and Jimmy Carter are in for a big surprise in two weeks: the end of the Democratic Party as a national political force!

I know I am retired after 23 years and was in Kuwait at the initial outset of OIF... I work with the military now on the contractor side and belive me 9 out of 10 say the same thing they hate John Kerry enough to get out if he becomes President.. It is simply saddening to think that this guy even has a small chance at the top prize.

John Kerry doesn't want anyone to follow him. He just wants us to join him in following the UN.

Sheep to slaughter.

I pray you are correct... and I am doing all I can to get out the vote... I speak to all the military people and contractors that I work with and they all agree.. John Kerry is an extremely dangerous man... I wish more americans would come to realize this... because this election should not even be close... The Dem Machine needs to be shut down hard.

John Kerry CANNOT lead America's military to victory in Iraq, nor lead the War Against Radical Islam, because:

1. Kerry believes the war is a mistake;
2. Kerry wants America to lose.

"Kerry wants America to lose"...

For the life of me I cannot understand this mentality or that of the electorate...very, very frightening!

Recently, my son-in-law was home from Iraq for a 15 day leave. He managed to get the leave so that he could be here for his daughters birth. He says, that he is one among many, who will not die with a traitor as CIC.

He was wearing wraps on his feet because he screwed them up over there. He could get out on a medical in about a heartbeat, but he believes in what he has been doing and wants to help his buddies survive. He's a Sergeant for a Scout team. If kerry were to win the election, I suspect that he and his buddies will be on their way home just as fast as they can get through the paperwork.

Thank you so much. This is the heart of the problem currently. If anyone knows how to "force" the pro-Kerry national media to ask these questions, then they know something that we don't - apparently. The American people deserve answers to all of these big questions, starting with why Kerry will not sign the 180 standard release form to show us exactly what went on "behind closed doors" in the 25+ years since he receive some kind of a discharge. . . and that's only the first of dozens of questions the media needs to ask him. Why didn't Charlie Gibson, Gwen Ifell or Bob Schieffer ask Kerry a single one of the most important, revealing questions?

"I suspect that he and his buddies will be on their way home just as fast as they can get through the paperwork."

Question? Even though they don't reenlist are they not still required to serve if the DOD calls them back?

He'll never get the 40,000 additional troops he says he's going to add. He'll have to try to reinstate the draft.

His recruiting poster for getting new soldiers to enlist might be able to entice 40,000 drugged out homosexuals but they would probably die of AIDS or overdoses before they face the enemy.

John Kerry cannot lead or command. He is a traitor who was an active accomplice to the torture and murder of POW's, who stole the honor of all who served, who betrayed his oath as a commissioned officer, and betrayed his country.

He continues to betray our forces in the field today.

Fact.

Will John Kerry be forced to institute a draft? Will he be forced to turn over our military operations to the UN? Even then will the drafted fight? Will the UN wield the power of the US military?

Something like this?

We are the most powerful nation in the world because we fight Nobel causes and we have the military strength to protect ourselves from those that would do us harm.

Which country has this military?

709,000 Reguar (active duty) personnel.
293,000 Reserve military personnel.
8 Standing army divisions.
20 Air Force and Navy air wings with 2,000 combat aircraft.
232 Strategic bombers.
19 Strategic ballistic missile submarines with 3,114 nuclear warheads on 232 missiles.
500 ICBMs with 1,950 warheads.
4 Aircraft carriers, 121 surface ships, and all the support bases, shipyards and logistical assets.

These are United States military forces eliminated during Bill Clinton’s administration.

John Kerry voted 100% to support this eliminations!!

There's more all of us can do to defeat Kerry! Actions speak louder than words.

See the highly regarded conservative website The Federalist http://patriotpetitions.us/kerry/. They have a petition all of us can sign - 178110 signers so far.

Petition to Indict and Disqualify John Kerry from National Office

The petition will be sent to the Senate President , Senate Majority Leader and Attorney General after the election.

"Though John Kerry has an extensive and well-documented record of anti-American activities over the past three decades, it is his acts of treason in 1970-71 that are the subject of this petition for indictment. Our appeal notes both Kerry's violations of the UCMJ (Article 104 part 904) and U.S. Code (18 USC Sec. 2381 and 18 USC Sec. 953), and calls for his disqualification for public office in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

"Why prosecute John Kerry now? In October 2003, Mr. Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war record the centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency; this has been especially true since his primary victory in March 2004. In response, more than 165,000 signatories of the above-referenced petition for indictment have made his war record the centerpiece of their campaign to disqualify Kerry from public office. We understand that no action is likely to be taken on this petition until after the 02 November election. Be it known, however, that on 03 November, we will seek full recourse in an effort to have John Kerry prosecuted for acts of treason and disqualified from any future campaign for any national office. We are thus committed to holding Mr. Kerry accountable for his actions, as there is no statute of limitations for acts of treason."

There is more background at their site.

Send the petition to as many as possible and have them do likewise! This might open the eyes of some.

Most people do not know how many good military people were ready to leave in huge numbers if Gore had been elected. People of strong will, unbending courage and moral character will not stomach a treasonous piece of trash such as John Kerry at President. I believe a Kerry presidency will literally tear this country apart. Who are the commie pacifists going to get to fight? None of them want to fight for any reason.
