Washington -- The nation was divided as never before over a foreign war, and in the country's capital, as protesters massed by the tens of thousands, the president felt he was under siege.

It was April 1971, the president was Richard Nixon and the war was in Vietnam. While Nixon and his aides conferred about ways to subvert the protests by seeking court injunctions and blocking anti-war veterans' access to Arlington National Cemetery, a 27-year-old former Navy lieutenant was girding for the biggest moment yet in his public life.

John Forbes Kerry's two-hour appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would launch him on a political career that may carry him to the presidency on Nov. 2. But it has also fueled the bitterest attacks by his critics, who say his angry words of that day show he is unfit for the nation's highest office.

We need a new ad complete with voiceovers and appropriate images:
Senator Kerry's mother Senator Kerry's FLIPS Senator Kerry's FLOPS
Integrity War Hero Anti-war Protestor
Integrity "... is the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong way ..." "Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world
would be better off without Saddam Hussein and those
who believe today that we are not safer with his capture don't have the judgment to be president or the credibility to be elected president."
Integrity abortion is a sin a woman's right to choose

and another ad that should be shown:

I'd like to see this as a new ad!

Fuels Discontent? That's too mild a word, Visceral Disgust and revulsion just barely approaches the feelings I have and I think it is safe to say most of us here feel the same way.
