What the old fool, George Soros, is too stupid to realize is how the $25 to $30 million he has pumped into the economy via 527s has helped the George Bush economy. The economy is up!
Certainly $25 to $30 million extra has stimulated the economy. When you look at the whole picture, all his money has backfired as people tend to vote the economy. Like Clinton said, it is the economy, stupid.

Soros has/had a stake in both AMR (AA's parent co.) and UAL (as of spring 2002 he had 3.5% stake in UAL).
From what I'm picking up in googling, those were the only 2 airlines which had stock shorted in the month leading up to 911 (I'm not saying, to be clear here, that he was behind it, but it's interesting to speculate on this).
One link I read stated that the money made in those trades remains unclaimed. It's about $5 million worth, and that link stated that it was considered "chump change" so my guess is a major player would not want to risk it by collecting this.

How did you get the invite?
I lived in Bulgaria then, was a free lance translator of books, fringe journalist and interpreter for many international events. A conference on future open society in Eastern Europe was part of Soros birthday party programme, and they needed interpreters for non-English speakers who were the majority among former "dissidents".
I haven't had a chance to go through all you posted, but will in a bit. You turned up a lot of revealing links on that man.
These major money makers operate above the laws that govern the rest of us. There are no controls, to speak of, on people like this.

It is incredible what access to huge sums of money will do in the hands of a nit wit.
Actually I read an interveiw of one of his sons and he more or less said his dad is nuts. Not sure about the other son, though.
