Wow! I just returned home after a 6 month contract in AZ. I was sure the Republic was pro Kerry. Glad I was wrong.

For all his attributes, Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic candidate for president, is incapable of setting out a convincing plan of action in Iraq.
Among other plans sKerry is incapable of articulating...

Questions: Is this the Tucson paper or the Phoenix paper? And, is this a Gannett owned paper.

I wonder why the MSM hasn't picked this up. Evidently Kerry deserves front page exposure for his endorsement from the New York Lies, I mean Times. /sarcasm off

This is a left-handed endorsement, at best.
Exhibit A:
Obviously, Bush has made serious errors in judgments regarding Iraq. Appalling weaknesses in planning served to hamstring Iraqi reconstruction and gave the terrorists their opportunity to wreak havoc.
Exhibit B:
This newspaper was sufficiently outraged by the disgusting revelations of Abu Ghraib prison to call for Bush's secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, to step down.
Mandatory MSM bites to still keep their cocktail party invitations flowing.

Here's another newspaper endorsement to add to the newspaper endorsement thread. :) I should've bookmarked it though. :/

It is not credible that a man who has derided nations like Great Britain, Australia and Poland as the "coalition of the bribed and the coerced" can step forward to lead that or any group of nations in Iraq. It is not credible that a man who has decried events in Iraq as the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place can set that war on the right path. Contempt is not a plan. Priceless. Should be the script for Bush every single day until the election. Contempt is not a plan!

I live in Phoenix, a great city with an awful paper, the ARIZONA REPUGNANT. In what is I think the fastest growing county in the nation and either the #1 or #2 fastest growing city in the nation, they are managing to LOSE CIRCULATION, surely a difficult feat to accomplish! But give the ARIZONA SOCIALIST REPUBLIC credit, they work very hard at this by being a far-left wing paper with tons of socialist propoganda and mis-information. And on top of that, they obviously don't even proof-read it! And of course, Conservatives need not apply to work there.
My suspicion is that this tepid endorsement is a lame attempt to stem the tide of subscription cancellations which is occuring now. One local host on our local conservative AM blowtorch, KFYI (Rush, Hannity, etc.) is keeping a record of the cancellations, and they are growing. The Republic, incidently hates KFYI so much they will never ever mention them in print, except to lie about them and lambast them. It's absolutely amazing the lies they will print, and I suppose like all the pointy-head libbies, they think we are such nimrods that we will just lap it up like good puppies.
Arizona is a heavily pubbie-state (Bush is ahead of Skerry by about 10 points in the polls). I suspect this endorsement is an attempt to stem the tide of cancellations by conservatives. I guess it's nice they gave Bush the endorsement, but I doubt that they are changing anyone's minds. Bush already owns this state, so how did they help us?? After prez debate #3 in Tempe, 40,000+ raucous conservatives filled the Bank One Ballpark for a rally with President Bush, and the place rocked!!

By the way, during the debate here, word on the street here was there were young women here who were bused in from New Jersey to appear at Kerry's rally's so someone would show up. Then when a local called in to Hannity and informed him of that fact, Hannity said this was going on a lot around the country.
seems Bush draws true crowds and Kerry pays for his.
