the deliberate dumbing down of america

the deliberate dumbing down of america is also a book for my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I want them to know that there were thousands of Americans who may not have died or been shot at in overseas wars, but were shot at in small-town 'wars' at school board meetings, at state legislative hearings on education, and, most importantly, in the media. I want my progeny to know that whatever intellectual and spiritual freedoms to which they may still lay claim were fought for-are a result of-the courageous work of incredible people who dared to tell the truth against all odds.

I want them to know that there will always be hope for freedom if they follow in these people's footsteps; if they cherish the concept of 'free will'; if they believe that human beings are special, not animals, and that they have intellects, souls, and consciences. I want them to know that if the government schools are allowed to teach children K-12 using Pavlovian/Skinnerian animal training methods-which provide tangible rewards only for correct answers-there can be no freedom.

Why? People 'trained'-not educated-by such educational techniques will be fearful of taking principled, sometimes controversial, stands

I have known the author of this book for many years, have worked with her. She has an icredible background and has worked tirelesslly, (and has experience incredible hostility,) for decates to try to get the truth out about what is happening in our schools and country - she long ago forwarned of what we see today: the Michael Moore's going into our schools with their outrageous propaganda (and why so many swallow it); the showing of such propagnada in our classrooms BY THE TEACHERS; why 90% or more of the college profs are liberals and the connection to the unbelievable control over our media and schools for decades, and thereby control of the minds of our citizens...Charlotte's espose should be required reading for each and every American - before that very near and very possible day when her writings, and those like hers, will be banned and burned...

Excellent information here - thank you. She was a guest on Alex Jones radio broadcast yesterday, and I was blown away by the information that she brought out.

It sickens me to witness the garbage being taught in our schools and universities by anti-American Commie Liberal psudo-intelectuals. I can't even hold a conversation with most of my relitives youth's. They have been Brainwashed of any truth's about our Country.

Any ideas of how to get rid of the NEA and establish tax credits so we have real choice in education?

Best Regards

Sergio

You don't need tax credits if you get rid of the NEA.

vote Bush and help him get the vouchers thru ' the only way is to circumvent the public - I mean government - schools for all parents to have a choice. Minorities also want it. That would whittle the liberals down...an educated minority is NOT something they want to see. Tat's why they are so against Bush's "No Child..."/soft bigotry program.
If parents have a choice, the government schools will either have to start teaching what we parents want - or go belly up. (I'd prefer the latter/)
(Vouchers would also breed many new NON-conrolled schools.)

Agreed, I just prefer tax credits to vouchers. With vouchers, the government is still involved in the schooling of our children. With tax credits, the government never gets their hands on our money in the first place.

Abolishing the NEA is however, the first and most important step.

I must disagree - the chaos and decline we see in public schools result directly from divorcing the practical training methods used for housebreaking puppies (AND humanizing the young of our species) from the learning process.

Assuming that each child is "special" leads directly to esteem-based promotion, to pandering to the "better angels of a child's nature" and all other such counterproductive silliness. No child is born with such a better nature - it can come into existence ONLY if inculcated into that child through pragmatic reward-and-punishment training.

what we see today: the Michael Moore's going into our schools with their outrageous propaganda (and why so many swallow it); the showing of such propagnada in our classrooms BY THE TEACHERS; why 90% or more of the college profs are liberals and the connection to the unbelievable control over our media and schools for decades, and thereby control of the minds of our citizens....

If this is true at the university level (and it certainly is) then you must redouble the facts for the public school systems nationwide. I don't care if you live in the most conservative bastion of the most conservative town in the country (if you do, will you please give me directions?) I guarantee you, your schools are filled with liberal, and ultra liberal educators following a specific global agenda. The scope and constant direction of this decades long agenda are positively satanic in nature. Liberals began quietly infesting our educational system in the 1960's they kept below the radar for many years. They knew that the fruits of their propaganda wouldn't be visible for several generations. Well guess what? It's all coming home to roost now. The initial victims of liberalism are now in positions of real power in this country. The most recent victims are the kids just coming of voting age. All those in between are the backup forces.

Used to be cops and soldiers were very pro-American, especially very pro 2nd Amendment. But the secret agendas buried in curriculums across the land have consistently minimized the importance of the Bill of Rights and the true origins of the American Revolution. Traditional American values have been systematically wiped from the curriculums in favor of liberalization and globalism. Why? well if you don't know about something, you'll be unlikely to want to fight for it's preservation. You'll be ripe for programming. That's exactly what has happened.

The first thing I do each school year (I have been an educator in a large southern school system for over 15 years) is to ask my seniors if they know what the differences are between a subject, issue and agenda. ANYTHING and everything is a subject. When you discuss all sides of that it becomes an issue but when only one side is discussed that makes for an AGENDA and that is somebody's planned actions on how they want you to think and act. I demand my students question everything, especially me! I make them check the facts and find multiple sources for everything. I show them how they have been manipulated for their entire school lives by asking these two simple questions:

1. Has anybody ever told you anything GOOD about firearms?

2. Has anybody ever told you anything BAD about the United Nations?

I know I'm going to get negative answers to both questions. I always do. Then I tell them that they have been victimized by an AGENDA. I always see the lights go on as they realize the truth. I tell them that in fact shooting is not just an Olympic Sport, but a professional sport as well, where the athletes get paid top dollar to compete all over the world. I show them the pictures of ME in IDPA competition. I point out that the nations belonging to the UN are in fact nearly all run by dictators that brutally supress their peoples. Even our British "allies" and Canadian "allies" don't enjoy a Constitution that protects individual freedoms. That's how I start the year. I progress from that point. So far, my year (my 8th in an inner city high school) is progressing very well. My Bush hating democrats came to class so glum after the last debate. Their observations went like this: I hate Bush, I hope he LOSES, but I have got to hand it to him, he nailed it last night. He won that debate. Like I said, it's gonna be another good year.
