Swell, but if the Republicans are as much a force as columns like this claim, then they should pass their agenda. They should make incremental but sustained cuts in the insane tax code, regulations, immigration law, federal bureaucracy and spending (even in the defense department), and all the big government that sustains the democrats on a national level in order to encourage the Democrat party to die. They also need to get the activist justices out of the courts. They should do this rather than pick up where the Democrats left off. People are still nervous about stability in the world and the economy back here, and I think most conservative voters are giving Republicans the benefit of a doubt this year. But the GOP doesn't want to be in the situation it was in back in 1991-92.
As the Democrat party sinks further under the control of the radical Left, they become increasingly unattractive to the majority. Thus they have to rely more and more on sycophant media and massive vote fraud. Mostly, the Dim sheeple just go along, not recognizing how radical and marginalized their party is becoming. But this year, finally, some are breaking away.

I noticed a huge Kerry-Edwards lawn sign in a co-worker's office yesterday - is it just me or is displaying these things in an office setting just plain tacky? - and asked why he was voting for Kerry. His response made no mention of Kerry at all but instead rattled off a list of things Bush is damaging: Separation of church and state and human rights topped the list. I asked for an example of human rights violations; he cited Abu Graibh. I asked if the elimination of Saddam should not also be taken into account before deciding whether the human rights situation was better or worse under Bush. His response? He called me an idiot. That was his only response. Sadly, this total inability to reason is typical of the Democrats I have spoken to this year, and working in Philly I've to a great many.
I know it's frustrating, but at least the centrist Republican party today embraces family and fairly traditional morality, unlike the leftist DemocRat party, and that means a more moderate federal bench, hopefully.

If dems would look who they are running for office I would be fustrated also.
Does anyone have any figures, hard data on how many dems have switched to the Republicans in the last decade? I keep on seeing stories about this state rep or that state senator having switched. How many is it who saw the light, the numbers have GOT to be in the hundreds nationwide in the last decade.
I hate to mention it but how many have turned tratitor other than he-whose-name-I-shall-not-speak? That and some NJ representative who betrayed us all because he got his knickers in a knot over our pushing some good gun bill. Anyone else?
You are right. There is a general solipsism on the Left which denies objective truth, reasoned argument, facts and figures . . . and there is also a substitution of Government for God. Last week I presented 21 clear Bush proposals on health care to a liberal at work. He responded, "I just don't see any logic." That was his whole respnse. No reasoned argument. No debate over facts. That's the way they are.
I look at politics in 3 areas.
On the right and left you have extremists. The Rights extremists believe in the constitution, believe that god is the foundation for our beliefs and believe that each individual was given god given rights that are to be protected by the laws given to us by both the constitution and the bible.
The lefts extremists are secularists that believe the state is the keeper of everyones lives and that our "god given" rights are to be doled out by the state at their whim. The constitution to the left is an inconvenience and obstacle to the power of the state.
Then you have everyone in between. These are Republicans and Democrats, rather than conservatives and liberals. This group believes in the workings of the constitution and respect that we have god given rights. However they would also like to see some relaxation of the laws as it pertains to the individual. In all fairness to this group, areas such as abortion and gay marriage fall into the "gray" area where people believe that this is their right. However extremists from both sides made this an issue more than twenty years ago and in a way has Divided the nation.
Bottom line is we are starting to see more of a polarization then at any time in American history. Look at the world. Most countries are governed by "the state" and not the individual. The left is determined to turn this country into a state governed by the state for the state. The people are mere pawns in their goal to control the resources of this country.
Which leaves the right and everyone else. The right wants this country to be run like churches in 15th century Italy.
Which leaves everyone in the middle. People, it is time to wake up. Because that 45-45-10 is quickly becoming 35-35-30. And that 30% of what the media calls undecided is what will change this countryover the next 10-20 years. It is convincing that part of the population that it is indiviual freedom and liberty that make this country great and not state dominated radicalism.
The 60's was a failed social experiment. Look at everything the state controls in this country. Slums, unions, education. All failed policies. It has no place n 2004.
Start waking up people to this. We need a 527 that can spend the next four years broadcasting this. Whether we win or lose, it must be told to the people.
Because if not, we will wind up like the Soviet Union, France, Germany and other nations where the state controls the people.
Just my 2 cents.
If the Republicans had a spokesman like James "Pit Viper" Carville, I think I would change my voter registration to Losertarian or the Constipation Party.
it misses the remaining two (& imo, most criticaal power nexuses if only for the enormous damage they can do and have done...) - the judiciary and the media.
