Poor Mr. O'Donnell. If he doesn't hate God and religion, he certainly sounds that way. And almost as bad, he seems to have visceral disdain for Christian believers. On Friday night's Scarborough Country, Mr. O'Donnell seemed to go beserk, it was disturbing to watch, but instructive. O'Donnell's eyes bugged out, he kept on yelling "lesbian, lesbian, lesbian" like a madman.
(I won't say Mr. O'Donnell acted like a B-movie demon who'd been sprinkled with holy water, but he sure was upset.) And he tried his best to keep viewers from hearing what Terry Jeffries had to say by constantly talking over him. I would say, Lawrence O'Donnell lost all common sense and self respect in trying to defend John Kerry's huge blunder.
John Kerry had no business mentioning Mary Cheney's sexual preferences, that was wrong. It would have been just as wrong for President Bush to mention Vanessa Kerry's sex life.
In the future, I think Lawrence O'Donnell should be identified as a Democrat spokesman, not an MSNBC Analyst. "Analyst" implies "thoughtfully objective", Lawrence O'Donnell is certainly not that.
(name,address,phone,& email addy included)
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when Lawrence kept repeating "Lesbian Sex," "Lesbian Sex," "Lesbian Sex," as though he was waving a red flag in Terry's face to get a negative reaction from him.
I happened to catch the tail end of this thing with Buchanan sitting unbelievable calmly ...
Great work. Nevertheless, O'Donnell may be working (albeit unconsciously) for our side. The Catholic vote for (the original) JFK didn't start picking up until after RFK started his surreptitious distribution of anti-Catholic "literature." Stalin wasn't completely successful in suppressing dissidents until after Dzerzhinsky trapped the hard-core anti-Stalinists in a purported anti-Stalin movement. These 'Man-Called-Thursday' counter-espionage tactics often work far more efficiently than mere forthright advocacy. And we may well have a very able "Thursday" in a certain Senatora.
I saw the whole disgusting thing. I'm glad you're sending in that letter. You should also send one to MSNBC, since he is their "analyst." Maybe they are pressuring Scarborough to put him on?
I get the feeling O'Connell is gay as a goose running loose at the Mardi Gras.
I was greatly amused at how calm Buchanan was. There was the Cheshire cat grin on his face. I think he was thinking, "Boy, this guy is making an *ss of himself and showing how vile the left really is, and I'm just going to sit here and let him keep on doin' cause this is fun."
Very likely, he normally isn't that calm!
"In the future, I think Lawrence O'Donnell should be identified as a Democrat spokesman, not an MSNBC Analyst. 'Analyst' implies 'thoughtfully objective', Lawrence O'Donnell is certainly not that."
Says it all.
Dear Joe: You have about the only show on MSNBC that tries to be even handed with both liberal and conservative commentary. But you have to stop giving air time to radicals like L. O'Donnell who purport to be analyst and then rant and rave like lunatics. It also would not hurt your show if instead having the swarmy Ron Reagan on, you found a liberal with a brain.
He's a jackass and a prime example of why spokesman for the Democratic Party are impossible to respect.
LOL, great letter. Do you think the Media will ever get it? I have a feeling it's like telling someone who's had a half a bottle of scotch that they aren't fit to drive.
She had on a "Ethicist". His name, Bruce Weinstein, The Ethics Guy. http://theethicsguy.com/
Needless to say, Bruce came down hard on Kerry. In no uncertain terms, Bruce explained how inappropriate it was for Kerry to mention Mary without her permission. When Snow gave the democrats' spinning defense,... ("the Cheney's did it first").... Bruce explained that parents can discuss their children all they like, very different from what Kerry did.
Of course then the guy went goofy. She was asking Weinstein if it was ethical for Sinclair Broadcasting to show the anti-Kerry film, Stolen Honor, and he said: It's not ethical unless Sinclair gives equal time to Kerry by showing Michael Moore's movie. Huh??
is someone implying there's actually ETHICS in broadcasting?
Hummmm let see which of the following is acceptable verbiage in the bright artificial light of MSNBC's news annalist studio:
"simple minded" Negroes;
"simple minded" Jews;
"simple minded" Irish;
"simple minded" believers.
One man's bigotry is another man's high paying thoughtful insight into matters politic.
Your bias is showing,
Name
"O'Donnell's eyes bugged out, he kept on yelling "lesbian, lesbian, lesbian" like a madman."
Mr. O'Donnell and the Democrat's know they are gonna LOSE and LOSE BIG
I too saw O'Donnell's angry screed against religion. It was despicable.
I happened to see the repeat last night and I was appalled at his diatribes against Terry and Christians. He is truly a hateful man. He took on God and at one point I expected lightning to strike. What a lunatic, yelling, "Lesbian! Lesbian! Lesbian!" at Terry and Pat.
LOL - I haven't started a thread in, probably a year, because I'm not sure how either! Thanks for making me feel like I'm not alone....
PS. I saw the show as well, and I LOVE your letter!
