Atlanta Muslims decry U.S. raids on Iraq mosques

A group of prominent Muslim community leaders in metro Atlanta voiced concerns Friday over U.S.-led raids on several mosques in Iraq. They said the raids violated the sanctity of the religious sites.

"There was no concern given to places of worship," said Amjad Taufique, a board member of Masjid Al-Hedaya in Marietta. "It's hurtful. . . . It's causing a lot of friction in the Muslim community."

Snip...

Imam Plemon El-Amin of the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam compared the outrage many Muslims feel about the raids to what African-Americans felt after the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four young black girls.

"At some point during the 1960s, churches were under attack and the people who actually perpetrated the attack felt that they were justified because that's where the boycotts and sit-ins were being organized," El-Amin said. He stressed, however, that he does not condone insurgents turning mosques into "any kind of fortress."

wish to state clearly that those who commit acts of terror

That is doublespeak and not a clear condemnation.
If you look at the AP there are no acts of Terror just Insurgents and Freedom Fighters.

We have to remember that it is the Left, our homegrown socialist b@st#rds, that taught these fascists the game. They are using the tactics of the Commu-fascist Left to defeat us. The same slobs who blame America first are aliies of these fifth-columnists.

I have no doubt in my mind that the fascist Left has gotten into bed with the islamic fundamentalists for the sole purpose of defeating the right, but what they don't realize is; After defeating the right, the islamics will then turn on the left and eat them too.

Someone please tell these people to shut up. We blasted every church steeple in Normandy and Germany that was used for military purposes and we did it without hesitation. We carpet bombed Cologne and Dresden and we did it without hesitation. In fact, the Queen of England is going to a benefit concert in Berlin to raise money to complete the repairs of a cathedral in Cologne the British destroyed in WWII.

I say, we back the Iraqi's with massive air and ground firepower, let the Iraqis clean out the armaments and explosives hidden in mosques and clinics. If they get shot at by their own people, pull the Iraqi troops back and annihilate the entire structure. We would only have to do it a couple of times to get the point across. Then the Iraqis could do their job of making safe, the sick streets of Fallujah.

"There was no concern given to places of worship,"...

Places of worship? I thought these funny shaped buildings were ammo dumps and staging areas for insurgements. Maybe terror is their equivalent of communion. Perhaps we should destroy the mosques instead of just returning fire! Think that would upset these guys even more?

"No injustice done to Muslims can ever justify the massacre of innocent people,"

ALL of their "condemnations" Have a line like the one quoted above. ALL of them.

When terrorists hide weapons and use mosques as military headquarters, they are fair game. The circular dome makes a good siting target for gunships!

I agree with you. War is hell and people seem to have forgot WWII and what we did to win, what we had to do, what was just and right to do.

Anyone know the GPS coordinates of the Atlanta mosque to send to our military for the next bombing run?

You know, I'd give American based Muslims complaining about raids on mosques in Iraq more credibility if they would show even a scintilla of compassion and concern for AMERICA!

They come here and REAP the benefits and then they HATE us for their own freedoms.

I've known low-self esteemed girls with promiscuous attitudes who get treated better than that!

That is the main reason that I can only conclude that they support terror. There are at least 100 times as many "Moo-lahs" who preach terror in the mosques as those who speak up against it. And there are many more who remain silent. And this is in Western countries. In Muslim countries, essentially, none of them speak against terror.

Imagine if there were one Christian religious leader in the US who told his followers to kill Muslims. The "outrage" would be echoing for centuries....and looking at history, this is the case.
