Please also accept my condolences, and with absolutely no disrespect to your cousin, you or your family in this difficult time, I would offer an excerpt of a prayer spoken by an American over sixty years ago while fighting on foreign soil:
"ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father... Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."

You and yours are in our thoughts and prayers.

For Eric:
To fallen soldiers let us sing
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the Mansions of the Lord
No more bleeding, no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
Just divine embrace, eternal light
In the Mansions of the Lord
Where no mothers cry and no children weep
We will stand and guard though the angels sleep
Through the ages safely keep
The Mansions of the Lord

Just wanted you and your family to know that I appreciate the sacrifice.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss... "Greater love hath no man than he give his life for another"...
Precious little comfort in that now, I know, but it is true.
Thank you for the supreme sacrifice your loved one was willing to make and made on our behalf.
We are certainly unworthy of his sacrifice.
May God comfort you and yours in this time of grief.
