Because I have much of the script of Dr. Strangelove memorized, I did not play the closing scene on my TV as I was writing the column. I wish I had, because I would have included the "I have a plan...." That way the quote would have skewered both Edwards AND Kerry, a double whammy.

Your analysis and naming of "machine gun lying" was right on the money.

Edwards blather about stem cells and their practical uses probably has as much to do with medical science as his demonstrably unproven link between tardy Ceasarian sections and unnecessarily prolonged labor with cerebral palsy.

If you haven't read these threads, you might enjoy them. Thanks agian for the history. Adios

Thanks for adding a new word to my vocabulary, "Carvillization." And the very first thing I thought of after hearing Edward's miraculous claims was the wonderful ad-lib, "Mein Fuehrer, I can valk!" Perhaps hecklers can shout to Edwards, "I can valk, I can valk!" Already the dead are voting for Kerry/Edwards, so who knows?

I'd vote for you if I lived in NC or if you moved to IL.

Bump this back up. I had missed it first go around. Mighty fine.

As to not being able to vote, well I'm in Tennessee, but I'm planning to donate when he gets it cranked up. Regardless of where he lives, this man would be a tremendous asset in Congress. He merits the financial support of Freepers throughout the world, if he makes the decision to run.

Not sure how it would work vis a vis the rules of this site,; I think Jim had a link to John's page once before.

Be very careful about speaking ill of other members of the Body of Christ. There is a VERY DEAR PRICE TO PAY, even to the point of making a quick exit from this existence into the next. Cuidado!

"The folks back home'd like Edwards to make an impact in the senate."

I think they would be satisfied if he'd just show his face in the senate. He isn't referred to as the "absent senator" in his home state for nothing. He has spent more time on his campaign for presidency and vice-presidency than he has in the senate.
