"If asexuality is indeed a form of sexual orientation, perhaps it will not be long before the issue of 'A' pride starts attracting more attention," New Scientist says.
LOL. But it's not a joke. Here is the NS article:
New Scientist article: Feature: Glad to be asexual
To: FairOpinion
Latest research: 99.9999% of unmarried men are autosexual.

They're watching too much PBS. Or too much Helen Thomas. *Snicker*

True enough. I tried to convince my wife about the wisdom of having monthly substitute "wife" but she didn't go for it! ;-)

It is a nice thing for a guy as good looking as John Edwards to stay married to woman as big as his wife. I give this guy a lot of credit for integrity.

A 1994 survey, published by The University of Chicago Press, found that 13 percent of 3,500 respondents had no sex in the past year. Forty percent of those people said they were extremely happy or very happy with their lives. And....? What is that supposed to mean? Some people choose to be celibate and they are happy with their lives. Is this somehow earth shaking news?
And yes there are people out there that are asexual. IMHO these people should not get married as their spouse will be frustrated and unhappy. Unless, of course, they find another asexual to marry.
Perhaps we should just leave them alone. And this A-Pride thing is silliness. It is like being proud of being color-blind.

Are people asexual by choice or by birth? Maybe they just don't have the social grace to copulate with a member of the opposite sex that they find attractive.
That would make it a culturally acquired trait (neither a choice or genetic, except in the case of people who have been hit with an ugly stick).
