(Excerpt)
So, who won the tempest in Tempe? The candidate with the painting of a west Texas dawn in his office. The one who declares with an unrestrained ebullience that "God wants everybody to be free."

Awesome editorial from the Arizona Republic today about last night's debate. Their take? Bush won!

this is a very good story. I haven't read a well balanced story in ages.

The Republic has always had a rather left slant, so this is great. If you look at Steve Benson's cartoon thought, it is snotty as usual.

I'm surprised Benson is still at the Republic. He's not even very good and I'm sure there are other people every bit as talented.

If there is doubt left as to who will become the next President of the United States it should be gone by now. President Bush WON big time last night. Showed John Kerry for what he is.

However, what is the discussion in Arizona re Bush's answers to the illegal immigration question (which I applauded Schieffer for asking)? Hmmmm....?

Benson is as bad or worse than Rex Rabin of the SacBee!

Yes, Benson's cartoon was rotten. I had an autographed Benson book from yeas ago and threw it out.
I didn't think this post went through!

I haven't heard much about what people are thinking about the immigration issue answers, yet. I just caught this Op/Ed at work in the break room and was very surprised!

I like Mike Ritter of the Tribune. I disagree with him at times, but a lot of times he is funny. Benson is just mean.

Thought you would like to see this, too! Amazing Op/Ed from my left leaning paper!

I called the editorial page today and told them I had a new use for Rex's cartoons. I just got a pet bird and they look great in the bottom of the cage!

This from the ARIZONA Republic? I hardly recognize it. I've lived here all my life and I haven't seen a fair editorial like this in over 20 years.

Yes, isn't it amazing? I will have to go for awhile now not calling them the "AZ Repugnant"!

I was at Bank One Ballpark last night. This pic is from somewhere else (I realized the clothing was different). Same response last night, though.

I'm bumping this because I think it's worth the read.
